Bangladesh NAP is not merely a political party; but a broad based movement that embraces the interests of all Bangladeshis. The long neglected aspirations of our people for a modern republic, based on the spirit of the war of liberation, that advocates nationhood, tolerance, moderation and freedom from all forms of subservience. A just society based on a democratic culture and Rule of Law by blend
ing all cultural and communal diversities into common goals and aspirations upholding rights to civil liberties, pursuit of religion, employment, shelter and education. Bangladesh NAP offers a new and credible leadership committed to Bangladesh’s political and economic sovereignty by bridging and building a new bond of trust between the people and the government. We are committed to credible democracy through transparency in government and an across the board accountability at all levels of public office. We believe that only through the active participation of the people can we collectively mobilize our human and material resources to forge ahead on the road to a confident and self-reliant nation. Bangladesh NAP strives for a moderate society in Bangladesh that banishes hatred and religious bigotry. We are focused on the root causes of our failures including rise of religious extremism which are injustice, poverty, unemployment and illiteracy while Nationalism remains the bedrock of Bangladesh’s foundations. Religious dogma must not be allowed to whip up passions for political gains rather upholding of religious values would deliver a truly Islamic society where one could practice the religion of one’s choice without fear or oppression. We believe sectarianism is a curse and must be eliminated from society. We must preserve and strengthen them, as they are our strengths for the future. Despite the grinding poverty and injustice, it is the structure of the family that keeps the social fabric intact. We believe mere passing of laws do not change ground realities. We cannot ignore the present dismal state of the women and children in terms of their right and access to healthcare, nutrition, and education. Our mothers need to be healthy and educated to properly nurture our young. A nation must care for its senior citizens who are most vulnerable. They need special attention and care as not only are they vulnerable, but also most valuable and yet most neglected part of society. Bangladesh NAP believes these fundamental values must be instilled into the youth so that their energies and idealism shall be harnessed to act as the locomotive for national revival and change. As a nation we cannot progress as long as our economy lacks dynanism and depends on international lenders and donors. We must strive for self-reliance. The goal of self-reliance does not in any way imply that we isolate ourselves from the global economy. It only shows our conviction that by restoring the trust of the people in public institutions we can harness their potential and mobilize them for a better tomorrow. Bangladeshis crave dignity and self respect. Any hope of recovery from the multifaceted crisis engulfing this nation will remain illusory without reviving patriotism and self-esteem of the people and restoring faith in the political leadership. We believe this can be achieved through Bangladeshi Nationalism.
