Kalaroa (Bengali: কলারোয়া) is an Upazila of Satkhira District in the Division of Khulna, Bangladesh. Geography:

Kalaroa is located at 22.8750°N 89.0417°E . It has 35475 units of house hold and total area 232.64 km².Kalaroa is bounded by sharsha, jhikargachha and manirampur upazilas on the north, satkhira sadar and tala upazilas on the south, keshabpur, Manirampur and Tala upazilas and the Kobada

Main rivers are kobadak, Betraboti, Sonai, Ichamati.Kumarnal,Murari Katy, Gonopatipur(the ideal village), Sonabaria, Kushudanga, Tulshidanga, Batra, Bujtola,Kazirhat, Khordo, Chandonpur are most famous village in Kalaroa. There are more that 12 colleges in Kalaroa including Sheikh Amanullah Degree College, Kalaroa Govt. College, Bongobondhu Mohila College, Kazirhat College. Average literacy 25.4%; male 33.2% and female 17.6%. Educational institutions: college 8, technical institution 4, high school 31, junior high school 6, madrasa 64 (mentionable Brozobaksha Islampur Madrasha and Kalaroa Alia Madrasha) , government primary school 67, non-government primary school 45, low cost primary school 12, satellite school 5. As of the 1991 Bangladesh census, Kalaroa has a population of 190721. Males constitute 50.96% of the population, and females 49.04%. This Upazila's 18 and over population is 97044. Kalaroa has an average literacy rate of 25.6% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate.[1]
