The ICCCAD team visited the BanCotta Project, implemented by Green Peace Network, which proudly won the Youth Innovation Fund 2025 under ICCCAD. We’re excited to share that Dhaka Tribune, a leading national daily, has featured our recent youth dialogue “Youth Voices for Climate Resilience” held on 19 October 2025 at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB)!

The dialogue highlights how youth leaders and climate advocates are calling for institutional reforms to ensure inclusive, local, and just climate resilience in Bangladesh.

Organized under the CAP-RES (Capacity Strengthening of Multi-Actors to Limit Climate Change Impacts and Enhance Resilience) Project of ICCCAD, IUB, and supported by the Embassy of Sweden in Dhaka, the event brought together government officials, development partners, media professionals, and youth networks to amplify youth-led climate action and policy engagement.

We thank our partners and participants for their continued efforts to make climate resilience inclusive and locally driven.

As part of its implementation efforts, the Green Peace Network’s youth-led project BanCotta has launched an eco-friendly initiative to produce vermicompost from banana plant residues — promoting effective waste management and offering farmers a sustainable alternative to chemical fertilizers.

On 7th September 2025, Agronomist Ms. Tania Akhter, Upazila Agriculture Officer of Kaunia, Rangpur, visited the plant. She observed the process, praised the young innovators’ dedication, and noted the importance of this initiative for waste management and soil fertility.

She also shared valuable guidance and assured full support for the project’s future growth.

✨ Her encouragement inspired the BanCotta team to keep working for a greener, more sustainable agricultural system. 🌿
