Department of Foreign Exchange Inspection, Bangladesh Bank To conduct inspections on AD branches, Head/Country Offices of all scheduled banks and money changers in the area of foreign trade and transactions

The main objective of the department is to conduct inspections on AD branches and Head/Country Offices of all scheduled banks in the area of foreign trade and transactions. The department also inspects the activities of money changers. The department directs its efforts to indentify irregularities and risks in foreign exchange transactions and makes suggestions to regularize them.

1. Scheduled Ba

nks:
The foremost activities accomplished on all scheduled bank by the department include:

--On �site comprehensive inspection on Authorized Dealer (AD) branches (including new AD), Off-shore Banking Units (OBU) and Head/Country Offices of all scheduled banks.
--Both on-site and Off-site comprehensive inspection on Foreign exchange Risk Management of all scheduled banks.
--Comprehensive/Special inspection program on foreign branches and Exchange Houses of Bangladeshi scheduled banks operating abroad.
--Need-based special inspection on all scheduled banks on any other subjects/complaints/ issues as per Directions of the higher authority. It also commits the subsequent activities on the on the identical area:

--Preparing and approving inspection reports after completing inspection within stipulated time.
--Delivering the copy of reports to the scheduled bank for their compliance. The following activities are essentially performed on money changers by the department.

--Conducting comprehensive and special inspection concerning changing location of office premise of all money changers and limited money changers in the country.
--Preparing and approving the reports after ending inspection within stipulated time.
--Delivering the hard/soft copy of report foreign exchange policy department for taking next necessary steps.
--Other relevant activities as required. Others


--Examining and exploring the news report published both in print and electronic media correlated in banking and financial issues.
--Scrutinizing and putting forward the findings to the superior authority for the kind perusal and necessary instruction and
--Other relevant activities as per requirements.

FEPD Circular No. 08/2018 : Circulation and Distribution of Guidelines for Foreign Exchange Transactions, 2018 Volume 1 and 2.

"Instructions of FE Circulars and Circular Letters issued upto November 30, 2017, other than
instructions of different government bodies issued vide our FE Circulars and Circular Letters, have
been incorporated in this GFET, 2018 version. The printed copy may be obtained from the Foreign
Exchange Policy Department at a cost of Tk. 500 (Five hundred taka) upon written application. Soft
copy of the same could be downloaded from Bangladesh Bank website."

স্বল্পোন্নত দেশ হতে বাংলাদেশের উন্নয়নশীল দেশে উত্তরণ অভিযাত্রার গৌরবোজ্জ্বল মুহূর্তকে স্মরণীয় করে রাখার জন্য বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংক ‘‘উন্নয়ন অভিযাত্রায় বাংলাদেশ-মার্চ ২০১৮’’ শীর্ষক একটি স্মারক নোট ইস্যু করতে যাচ্ছে। আগামী ২২ মার্চ ২০১৮ তারিখ সকাল ১০.০২ টায় গণপ্রজাতন্ত্রী বাংলাদেশ সরকারের মাননীয় প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা উক্ত স্মারক নোট অবমুক্তকরণ কার্যক্রম উদ্বোধন করবেন। ফোল্ডার ছাড়া খামসহ নোটের মূল্য নির্ধারণ করা হয়েছে ৭০ টাকা এবং দৃষ্টিনন্দন ফোল্ডার ও খামসহ স্মারক নোটটির মূল্য নির্ধারণ করা হয়েছে ২০০ টাকা । মাননীয় প্রধানমন্ত্রী কর্তৃক উদ্বোধনের দিন অর্থাৎ ২২ মার্চ ২০১৮ তারিখ দুপুর ১২.০০ টার পর থেকে স্মারক নোটটি নির্ধারিত মূল্যে বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংকের মতিঝিল অফিস হতে এবং পরবর্তীতে সকল শাখা অফিস হতে পাওয়া যাবে ।

স্বল্পোন্নত দেশ হতে বাংলাদেশের উন্নয়নশীল দেশে উত্তরণ উপলক্ষে মুদ্রিত স্মারক নোটের ডিজাইন ও নিরাপত্তা বৈশিষ্ট্য---

বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংকের গভর্নর জনাব ফজলে কবির স্বাক্ষরিত ১৪০ মিমি X ৬২ মিমি পরিমাপের এ স্মারক নোটের সম্মুখভাগে জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের প্রতিকৃতি, জাতীয় স্মৃতি সৌধ, বেতবুনিয়া ভূ-উপগ্রহ কেন্দ্র, বাংলাদেশের মানচিত্র, বাইনারি সংখ্যা ইত্যাদি মুদ্রিত আছে এবং নোটের ডানটিকে উপরের কর্ণারে নোটের মূল্যমান ইংরেজিতে ‘৭০’ এবং নীচের কর্ণারে বাংলায় ‘৭০’ মুদ্রিত রয়েছে ।

নোটের অপর পিঠে গণপ্রজাতন্ত্রী বাংলাদেশ সরকারের মাননীয় প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনার প্রতিকৃতি, বঙ্গবন্ধু স্যাটেলাইট-১ ও নির্মাণাধীন পদ্মা বহুমুখী সেতুর নকশা মুদ্রিত আছে। উপরের মধ্যভাগে ইংরেজিতে স্মারক নোটের নাম ''Developing Bangladesh March-2018'' লেখা আছে। নোটের বামদিকে উপরের কর্ণারে ইংরেজিতে স্মারক নোটের মূল্যমান ‘৭০’ এবং বামদিকে নীচের কর্ণারে বাংলায় ‘৭০’ মুদ্রিত রয়েছে ।

স্মারক নোটে বঙ্গবন্ধুর প্রতিকৃতি, ‘১০০’ এবং বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংকের মনোগ্রামের জলছাপ রয়েছে। নোটের সম্মুখভাগে বামদিকে ১০০ টাকা মূল্যমানের নোটের ন্যায় প্যাঁচানো নিরাপত্তা সুতা রয়েছে । তাছাড়া বহু রংয়ের ইউভি ফাইবার মাইক্রোটেক্সট ইত্যাদি নিরাপত্তা বৈশিষ্ট্যও স্মারক নোটটিতে রয়েছে। স্বল্পোন্নত দেশ হতে বাংলাদেশের উন্নয়নশীল দেশে উত্তরণ উপলক্ষে ২২ মার্চ, ২০১৮ বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংকের ৭০ টাকা মূল্যমানের স্মারক নোট উদ্বোধন করবেন মাননীয় প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা।
