With a view to expand & improve the services of water supply for the Khulna city, Government of Bangladesh established Khulna Water Supply and Sewerage Authority on March 2,2008 under article 3 of WASA Act 1996. In 1960, DPHE started construction of deep production tube wells and operating water supply system in Khulna city. In 1990, DPHE handed over Water Supply System to Khulna City Corporation (KCC).
