দেশের প্রথম নৌযান শুমারি আগামী ২০ থেকে ২৯ আগস্ট ২০২৬ পর্যন্ত সারাদেশে একযোগে পরিচালিত হবে。বাংলাদেশ পরিসংখ্যান ব্যুরো (বিবিএস) এবং নৌপরিবহন অধিদপ্তর যৌথভাবে এই শুমারি পরিচালনা করছে。 এর মূল উদ্দেশ্য হলো সমুদ্রগামী, উপকূলীয় ও অভ্যন্তরীণ জলসীমায় চলাচলকারী সকল ইঞ্জিনচালিত নৌযানের তথ্য সংগ্রহ করে একটি পূর্ণাঙ্গ ডেটাবেইস তৈরি করা。নৌপথ ও নৌযানের সঠিক পরিসংখ্যান পেতে এই শুমারি অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। নিচে এই শুমারি সংক্রান্ত বিস্তারিত তথ্য দেওয়া হলো:নৌযান শুমারি ২০২৬শুমারির সময়কাল: ২০ আগস্ট থেকে ২৯ আগস্ট ২০২৬উদ্যোক্তা: বাংলাদেশ পরিসংখ্যান ব্যুরো (বিবিএস) ও নৌপরিবহন অধিদপ্তরলক্ষ্য ও উদ্দেশ্য: দেশের নৌ খাতকে সুশৃঙ্খল ও কার্যকর করতে এবং সঠিক পরিকল্পনা প্রণয়নের জন্য ইঞ্জিনচালিত নৌযান ও ঘাটের সংখ্যা, ধরন এবং অন্যান্য তথ্য সংগ্রহ করা。সারা দেশে একযোগে তথ্য সংগ্রহের মাধ্যমে দেশের অর্থনীতি ও ব্যবসা-বাণিজ্যে নৌপথের অবদানকে আরও সুদৃঢ় ও গতিশীল করার লক্ষ্য রয়েছে সরকারের。
