On behalf of the Rohingya people, and formally representing the Rohingya Solidarity Organization (RSO), we extend our respectful congratulations to you and the Bangladesh Nationalist Party on your historic victory in the 2026 General Election of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
For the Rohingya nation, your family name carries profound historical weight. We recall with solemn respect the legacy of Ziaur Rahman, whose leadership during complex regional times remains deeply remembered among our people. We likewise acknowledge Khaleda Zia, whose tenure as Prime Minister coincided with critical phases supported the Rohingya community and whose position in Bangladesh’s political history remains significant.
Across decades of displacement, persecution, and uncertainty, the Rohingya people have remained conscious of the humanitarian space provided by Bangladesh and the sacrifices borne by its citizens. This memory is not political, it is human, and it is enduring.
At this important moment of leadership transition, the Rohingya people express their hope that principles of dignity, justice, and regional responsibility will continue to guide engagement with our long-standing humanitarian reality. We also look with aspiration toward a leadership that, like that of your revered father, offers moral guidance to the wider Muslim ummah in facing shared challenges. In that spirit, we hold firm to our belief that, under your stewardship, the path toward a safe, dignified, and rights-based return for the Rohingya people can finally be realized.
With highest respect and consideration,
Political Affairs Secretariat, Rohingya Solidarity Organization
