Since 2007 we have been supporting on social issues with various NGO’s from 2007 to 2017. We are committed to identifying the problems of vulnerable people in our community and trying to solve them through advocacy and awaren
ess. Especially we focus on youth related issues such as SRHR, Drug addiction, Child Marriage, Feminism, Girls education, Vocational trainings and others. Although we couldn’t solve the problems completely or overall due to lack of necessary manpower and funds, but we work to solve the problems by referrals linkage through advocacy with our limited resource and volunteerism. Our Mission and Vision: We want to live in such kind of society where every vulnerable people will be able to change their own destiny and have a society without discrimination .Particularly young people will strive for positive change in society and protect them from moral decay. Some activities of our organization:
We established a library in 2010 supported by Brac to develop the education of youth and adolescents of the community. There are more than 1000 books and everyday about 30-40 youths come to read books ,on the other hand those who are unable to read buy academic books now they read books from there.
We have formed a Community Fire Response Team to deal with fire hazardous of the community supported by World Vision. The team has trained up from Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defense. We do fire stimulation often.
We celebrate some special day to create awareness among the community .Like women’s day, girl child day, child rights week; national youth day, HIV AIDS day , sanitation week, hand washing day ,national disaster preparedness day, and victory day related others.
We work for stop child marriage .Already we have stopped 20-25 child marriage in the Kallyanpurpora Basti
We do rally against dengue, wash and hygiene and social issues
We do campaign against Dhaka City Clean with DSK and BARCIK
We have a cultural team for cultural performance on social issues like Jari Gan, Street Drama, Stage Drama, Wall writing. We do street drama on social issues like child protection, girls empower, child marriage, wash and hygiene and others.
We do debate program on different social issues .Particularly drug addiction, sexual abuse, girl’s education etc.
• Working experience with INGO & NGO:
From the beginning of our organization, we have been working with some INGO and NGO’s. Though our activities had started with Plan International Bangladesh but after their phase-out from the area we did not stop our activities . We come together organizationally and continue our activities till now. The remarkable organizations we worked with they are Plan International Bangladesh, BRAC, World Vision, Action Aid Bangladesh, WFP, DNCC, CUP, Insight, BARCIK, DSK, NBUS, NDBUS, and others. In very recent we had achieved the 2nd runner up position in ‘Urban Health Innovation Challenge 2021; Healthy, Safe and Inclusive cities from BRAC School of Public Health’. We have community fire response team to work on fire hazardous. We established a library in the slum supported by BRAC. We are working on wash and hygiene with DSK. We are also working with Action Aid Bangladesh on Girls Child Education, Girls Empower, Women Empower, Social Issues and Feminism. And still we are doing street drama on social issues with BARCIK and Dhaka Calling Project.
