I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Bobby Hajjaj, MP, on being entrusted with the responsibility of State Minister for Education in Bangladesh. His longstanding commitment to youth development, education reform, and civic leadership has made him a respected voice for progress, and this new role reflects the confidence placed in his vision for the nation’s future.

At the same time, I would like to recognize Rashna Imam Apa— not only as a supportive wife, but as an independent and accomplished individual in her own right. Through her work in the legal sector, women’s empowerment initiatives, and broader social engagement, she has consistently contributed to meaningful change. Her dedication, leadership, and strong sense of purpose reflect the true spirit of partnership — where strength, unity, and shared values create a powerful impact.
She has supported many women-focused platforms like Women Empowering Women. Rashna Apa continues to inspire and uplift others, proving that leadership is not limited to titles but is reflected in action and service. We are truly happy to share this proud moment.
Wishing them both continued success and the strength to keep contributing to society for a greater and more meaningful purpose.

It's hard to find words in the face of such tragedy. A doctor, just 31 years old, who dedicated her life to healing others, has been brutally taken from us in Kolkata. How do we reconcile the loss of a young woman who spent her days saving lives, only to have hers ended so violently?
She was more than just a professional—she was a daughter, a friend, a sister, a beacon of hope for many. In a world where women still fight for their right to exist without fear, this senseless act of violence reminds us how far we still have to go.
This isn't just a loss for her family or her community; it's a loss for all of us. We must ask ourselves, how many more bright lives must be extinguished before we rise and demand change? We owe it to her, to every woman, to create a world where safety isn't a privilege but a right. Let her memory be a call to action—a reminder that we cannot be silent in the face of such atrocities.

Women-Life-Freedom: 2023 Nobel Peace Prize laureate Narges Mohammadi is a woman, a human rights advocate, and a freedom fighter. In awarding her this year’s Nobel Peace Prize, the Norwegian Nobel Committee wishes to honour her courageous fight for human rights, freedom, and democracy in Iran.

In the 1990s, as a young physics student, Narges Mohammadi was already distinguishing herself as an advocate for equality and women’s rights. After concluding her studies, she worked as an engineer as well as a columnist in various reform-minded newspapers. In 2003 she became involved with the Defenders of Human Rights Center in Tehran, an organisation founded by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Shirin Ebadi. In 2011 Mohammadi was arrested for the first time and sentenced to many years of imprisonment for her efforts to assist incarcerated activists and their families.

Two years later, after her release on bail, Mohammadi immersed herself in a campaign against use of the death penalty. Iran has long been among the countries that execute the highest proportion of their inhabitants annually. Just since January 2022, more than 860 prisoners have been punished by death in Iran.

Her activism against the death penalty led to the re-arrest of Mohammadi in 2015, and to a sentence of additional years behind walls. Upon her return to prison, she began opposing the regime’s systematic use of torture and sexualised violence against political prisoners, especially women, that is practised in Iranian prisons.

Last year’s wave of protests became known to the political prisoners held inside the notorious Evin prison in Tehran. Once again, Mohammadi assumed leadership. From prison she expressed support for the demonstrators and organised solidarity actions among her fellow inmates. The prison authorities responded by imposing even stricter conditions. Mohammadi was prohibited from receiving calls and visitors. She nevertheless managed to smuggle out an article which the New York Times published on the one-year anniversary of Mahsa Jina Amini’s killing. The message was: “The more of us they lock up, the stronger we become.” From captivity, Mohammadi has helped to ensure that the protests have not ebbed out.

The 2023 Nobel Peace Prize is awarded to Narges Mohammadi for her fight against the oppression of women in Iran and her fight to promote human rights and freedom for all.

Revolutionary steps taken by recognising Mother as legal guardian of student! How this very mere truth had not been recognised and respect had not been given ? Better late than never! Kuddos to all the Moms out there!

In a historic judgment on Tuesday, the High Court said that from now, mothers too would be recognised as the legal guardians of children in different official documents of students. The High Court bench of Justice Naima Haider and Justice Razik-Al-Jalil pronounced the judgment, reports UNB. After ....
