Our Communities, Our Voices, Our Future

Today, our beloved Rohingya Green Nature Society (RGNS) has organized the first Cluster Five coordinating meeting between community representatives of Camps 22, 24, 25, 26, and 27.

The meeting was attended by the RGNS camp coordinators and secretaries. In this meeting, community representatives were given a platform to share their views, priorities, and concerns, as well as discuss coming up activities and how the RGNS initiatives can be made more relevant, community-driven, and effective throughout the community.

This was not only a meeting but also an opportunity for community representatives to network and collaborate in support of promoting social change and development in their communities.

We heard the needs, concerns, suggestions and ideas of community representatives, as well as the opportunities and challenges facing our communities.

RGNS recognizes the need to allow communities to take ownership of development initiatives instead of giving them ready-made solutions.

Community members’ ideas and visions are powerful tools for promoting positive change in the community when they are allowed to contribute to decision-making, sharing of ideas and opinions, and influencing policies.

The upcoming activities will focus more on youths’ leadership, education, environmental conservation, community engagement, peacebuilding, and empowerment among other related aspects. Today, was only the beginning of something big.

We will continue to listen to your voices.

We will continue to learn your ideas.

We will continue to work together to empower our community because our future depends on our own hands and minds.

Our voices matter! Our ideas matter! Our participation matters! Our future matters!

Learning, Sharing and Inspiring Through RGNS

Today our Rohingya Green Nature Society (RGNS) team had a meeting with our learners from the Rohingya community and our partners at Berkeley University in the USA.

We talked with the learners who will lead their own projects and told them about their ideas, goals, strategies, and how they will develop their projects in the RGNS. We also shared the experience, knowledge and gave words of motivation for them.

In this meeting we will develop and submit 8 projects with the leadership of our learners.

For us this is not only developing the projects but also providing the platform for our learners where they can gain confidence, leadership, creativity, skills, and make their own ideas and experiences count for the betterment of their community.

We are so proud of our learners and we wish them success in their ideas and motivation throughout the journey of the projects.

Yesterday we spent an meaningful day with Joyeta Biswas Troyee, Founder of Future Flare Foundation and Ishrat Zahan Somya together with various teams and members of the Rohingya Green Nature Society, RGNS.

The meeting gathered RGNS Founder Ajas Khan , respected Advisor Md Younus Arman , team members, youth teams, cluster heads and Executive Committee members.

Together we talked about the realities of the Rohingya refugee camps, local challenges and the broader crises that affect our communities. We explored how we can collaborate to create community-led solutions that build a safer stronger and more sustainable future.

We believe sustainable development starts with listening to communities empowering people and building meaningful partnerships. When we work together even small actions can create lasting change.

A special thank you to respected Advisor MD Younus Arman for being present sharing guidance and continuing to support our community and environmental initiatives.

15,000+ Trees. One Shared Future.

Today Rohingya Green Nature Society (RGNS) continued our community tree planting initiative through the personal commitment and leadership of our Advisor, Md Younus Arman .

Since 2023, MD Younus Arman has supported the distribution and planting of more than 15,000 trees across the Rohingya refugee camps through his personal initiative. His continued commitment is an inspiring example of how individual action can create lasting impact for both people and the environment.

For us, every tree means more than greenery. It means hope, resilience, climate action, and a healthier future for our children.

As Rohingya youth, we will not only speak about climate change. We are fighters for climate action in the camps. We will plant, protect, and lead.

Every seedling we plant today is an investment in tomorrow. Together, we can build communities that are greener, healthier, and more resilient to climate change.

Our community can grow greener. Our youth can lead the change. We are the climate fighters of our camps.

International Literacy Day

We, Rohingya women acknowledge literacy not as a privilege but as a right.

Every woman and girl, regardless of their status, should have the opportunity to access the right to learn, to read, speak eloquently, and carve their own destiny.

We also believe that for the Rohingya women and girls education is an investment, power, pride, and hope. When one Rohingya woman is educated it creates a positive chain of Rohingya women who make a better tomorrow for the entire community.

Therefore, today, Rohingya Green Nature Society RGNS Women’s team calls for investing in the literacy education of every single Rohingya woman and girl.

We have voices that need to be heard! We have dreams that need to be achieved! We have education that needs to be supported!

Workshop on Preventing Religious Hate Speech, Islamic Values & Social Harmony

‎Today, 4 September 2026, we successfully organized and completed a meaningful workshop on “Preventing Religious Hate Speech, Islamic Values, and Social Harmony” at the ARNS Office, with the participation of more than 70 camp coordinators, camp secretaries, community representatives, trainers, and distinguished guests.
‎
‎We sincerely appreciate the Rohingya Green Nature Society (RGNS) and Burden for Minority for organizing this important initiative and creating a valuable platform for community engagement.
‎
‎Purpose of the Workshop
‎
‎The workshop was organized to provide a platform for consultation, dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and learning on preventing religious hate speech, combating discrimination, promoting tolerance, and strengthening social harmony within our community.
‎
‎Through meaningful discussions and shared experiences, participants explored how individuals and community leaders can contribute to creating a more peaceful, respectful, and inclusive environment.

9th Anniversary of the Rohingya Genocide | 25 August 2026

Nine years have passed since the genocidal violence of 25 August 2017, yet the pain remains deeply rooted in the Rohingya collective memory.

Today, Rohingya Green Nature Society (RGNS) remembers the lives lost, families torn apart, homes destroyed, and communities forced from their ancestral homeland of Arakan. We honour the survivors whose courage and resilience continue to carry our people forward.

The history of the Rohingya is marked by repeated persecution, violence, and forced displacement. The events of 2017 were not an isolated tragedy, but part of a long history of systematic persecution that has profoundly affected generations.

These are not simply statistics. Behind every number is a human life, a family, a village, a memory, and a story that deserves to be remembered.

RGNS stands with the Rohingya people in preserving our history, protecting our identity, supporting our communities, and pursuing a future grounded in justice, dignity, equality, peace, and human rights.

We call for meaningful accountability for crimes committed against the Rohingya, recognition of our rights and identity, and conditions that enable a safe, voluntary, dignified, and sustainable return to our ancestral homeland of Arakan.

We remember the victims.
We honour the survivors.
We preserve the truth.
We protect our identity.
We will never forget.

International Youth Day 2026

Beyond Tomorrow : Empowering Young People to Shape a Better Future and Lead Change today

Young people are not the leaders of tomorrow they are the ones making a difference today. They have the courage, creativity and determination to make things happen and solve some of the problems we face.

On International Youth Day the Rohingya Green Nature Society celebrates people who keep learning, leading and working for positive change even when things are tough.

In refugee camps, islands and coastal areas and other places where life is hard young people are showing they can handle a lot. Many of them are still going to school learning skills helping their communities standing up for human rights protecting the environment and finding local solutions even when it is not easy.

Young people do not just want to be praised. They want to be given opportunities to participate and be invested in.

Young people want education skills that will help them jobs that will make them proud safe places to be and a say in the decisions that affect their lives and communities. They also want people to recognize and support the work they are doing to protect the environment bring peace develop their communities and make sure everyone is treated fairly and has the chance to succeed.

We should not just see people as people who need help. They are our partners, leaders, thinkers and decision-makers. What they have been through. What they think can help us build stronger more fair communities.

At the Rohingya Green Nature Society we think that empowering people means more than just giving them opportunities. It means trusting them listening to what they have to say helping them develop their skills and giving them a say in what happens. When young people have access, to knowledge, skills and resources they can turn problems into opportunities and ideas into action.

On this International Youth Day we celebrate every person who has the courage to speak up the determination to keep learning the kindness to help others and the vision to imagine a better future.

What you say matters. Your courage matters. Your ideas matter. What you do matters.

The future should not just be something that young people inherit. It should be a future they have the power to help shape today.

Today, Rohingya Green Nature Society (RGNS) stands in solidarity with fellow Rohingya-led and civil society organizations in calling for urgent international action as the Rohingya humanitarian and human rights crisis continues to worsen.

As global attention shifts elsewhere, millions of Rohingya continue to face deepening food insecurity, escalating violence, child kidnappings, armed conflict, forced displacement, human trafficking, and the ongoing denial of their fundamental rights. These are not isolated incidents. They are the result of prolonged inaction and the failure to deliver lasting solutions.

RGNS calls upon international donors, the United Nations, regional governments, humanitarian partners, and the global community to renew their commitment to the Rohingya people by fully funding the humanitarian response, strengthening protection measures, supporting refugee-led initiatives, and advancing a just, sustainable, and rights-based solution, including the conditions for the voluntary, safe, dignified, and sustainable return of Rohingya to Myanmar.

The world must not look away. The time to act is now.
