Subject: Application for urgent legal action to prevent the terrorist and destructive activities of Rahat, son of Jalal Fakir of Amtali Upazila.
Sir,
We are peace-loving citizens of Amtali Upazila in Barguna District. Through this application, we humbly draw your kind attention to the fact that the general public of Amtali is currently living through a terrible terrorist situation. The mastermind behind this situation is one Rahat, son of Jalal Fakir.
You are aware that many influential political figures and their families have lived in Amtali in the past. For example, the children of leaders like former Municipal Mayor Motiur Rahman, the Mridha family, Forkan Mia, Badal Khan, Nannu Chairman, and Nurl Islam Ukil have never become a threat to the life and property of the general public. Rather, they engaged themselves in social and constructive activities. But Rahat's case is completely different and terrifying.
It is a matter of sorrow that despite not being at the center of political power for the last 17 years, Rahat has created an absolute reign of terror in the Amtali area. There are numerous allegations against him involving theft, snatching, dacoity, stabbing, and fighting in broad daylight. The list of his misdeeds is growing longer day by day, completely destroying the peace and order of the area.
Most concerning is that today, centered around the attempt to occupy the Amtali Chourasta CNG stand, Rahat and his gang, armed with local weapons, engaged in a horrific clash. As a result of this incident, extreme panic spread among the general public, and severe tension prevails in the area. The only fear of the general public is that if such a chaotic situation continues, nothing will remain of the safety of Amtali's residents.
Under these circumstances, it is our earnest application that you would be kindly pleased to direct the concerned administration and law enforcement forces to take immediate strict and exemplary legal measures against this identified terrorist Rahat, in the interest of ensuring the safety of the life and property of the peace-loving people of Amtali and preventing the deterioration of law and order. We believe that under your robust leadership, Amtali will once again become a safe and peaceful locality.

বিষয়: আমতলী উপজেলার জালাল ফকিরের ছেলে রাহাতের সন্ত্রাসী ও নাশকতামূলক কর্মকাণ্ড রোধকল্পে জরুরি আইনি পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণের আবেদন।
মহোদয়, আমরা বরগুনা জেলার আমতলী উপজেলার শান্তিপ্রিয় নাগরিকবৃন্দ। এই আবেদনের মাধ্যমে আমরা আপনার সদয় দৃষ্টি আকর্ষণপূর্বক জানাচ্ছি যে, আমতলীর সাধারণ জনগণ বর্তমানে এক ভয়াবহ সন্ত্রাসী পরিস্থিতির মধ্য দিয়ে দিনাতিপাত করছে। এই পরিস্থিতির মূল হোতা হলো জনৈক জালাল ফকিরের ছেলে রাহাত।
মহোদয় অবগত আছেন যে, আমতলীতে অতীতেও অনেক প্রভাবশালী রাজনৈতিক ব্যক্তি এবং তাদের পরিবার বসবাস করেছেন। উদাহরণস্বরূপ, সাবেক পৌর মেয়র মতিউর রহমান, মৃধা পরিবার,রকান মিয়া, বাদল খান, নান্নু চেয়ারম্যান এবং নুরুল ইসলাম উকিলের মতো নেতৃবৃন্দের সন্তানরা কখনোই জনসাধারণের জানমালের জন্য হুমকি হয়ে ওঠেনি। বরং তারা সামাজিক ও গঠনমূলক কর্মকাণ্ডে নিজেদের নিয়োজিত রেখেছেন। কিন্তু রাহাতের বিষয়টি সম্পূর্ণ ভিন্ন এবং আতঙ্কজনক।
দুঃখের বিষয় হলো, গত ১৭ বছর রাজনৈতিক ক্ষমতার কেন্দ্রে না থাকার পরেও রাহাত আমতলী এলাকায় একচ্ছত্র ত্রাস সৃষ্টি করে রেখেছে। তার বিরুদ্ধে চুরি, ছিনতাই, ডাকাতি, কুপিয়ে জখম এবং প্রকাশ্য দিবালোকে মারামারির অসংখ্য অভিযোগ রয়েছে। তার অপকর্মের তালিকা দিন দিন দীর্ঘ হচ্ছে, যা এলাকার শান্তিশৃঙ্খলা পুরোপুরি ধ্বংস করে দিচ্ছে।
সবচেয়ে উদ্বেগের বিষয় হলো, আজ আমতলী চৌরাস্তা সিএনজি স্ট্যান্ড দখলের চেষ্টাকে কেন্দ্র করে রাহাত ও তার বাহিনী দেশীয় অস্ত্রশস্ত্রে সজ্জিত হয়ে এক ভয়াবহ মারামারিতে লিপ্ত হয়। এ ঘটনায় সাধারণ মানুষের মধ্যে চরম আতঙ্ক ছড়িয়ে পড়ে এবং এলাকায় চরম উত্তেজনা বিরাজ করছে। সাধারণ জনগণের একটাই আশঙ্কা, যদি এমন অরাজক পরিস্থিতি চলতে থাকে, তবে আমতলীবাসীর নিরাপত্তার আর কোনো অবশিষ্ট থাকবে না।
এমতাবস্থায়, আমাদের আকুল আবেদন, আমতলীর শান্তিপ্রিয় মানুষের জানমালের নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করার স্বার্থে এবং আইন-শৃঙ্খলার অবনতি রোধ করতে, এই চিহ্নিত সন্ত্রাসী রাহাতের বিরুদ্ধে অনতিবিলম্বে কঠোর ও দৃষ্টান্তমূলক আইনি ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণের জন্য সংশ্লিষ্ট প্রশাসন ও আইনশৃঙ্খলা বাহিনীকে নির্দেশ প্রদান করতে আপনার সদয় মর্জি হয়। আমরা বিশ্বাস করি, আপনার বলিষ্ঠ নেতৃত্বে আমতলী আবারও একটি নিরাপদ ও শান্তিময় জনপদে পরিণত হবে।
