Please see below the program for our Athletics Carnival, scheduled for Friday, 26 June 2026.

Parents, carers, and family members attending the carnival are asked to enter via Pool Close (Gate 12), located beside the Woree Aquatics Centre.

"Please note that all other school gates will be closed."

We look forward to welcoming you for a fun-filled day of competition, participation, and school spirit.

As Term 2 and Semester 1 of 2026 come to a close, Woree State High School Principal, Mr Maurice Andrejic, would like to wish all members of our Woree community a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable school holiday break.

🏉 Back-to-Back Cowboys Challenge Champions! 🏆

Congratulations to our Opens team on securing back-to-back Cowboys Challenge Premierships! 🥹

This outstanding achievement has earned them qualification for the NRL Schoolboy Trophy Playoffs in Townsville from 5–7 August, keeping their dream alive of progressing to the NRL Schoolboy Trophy Grand Final in Brisbane later this year. 🏉

While our Year 9/10 boys fell just short of victory, they should be incredibly proud of their efforts and the way they represented our school. We certainly are.

To our staff, students, families, and supporters who packed the stands—thank you. Your unwavering support, energy, and passion created an incredible atmosphere that lifted our teams and made the occasion truly special. While the result will be remembered for years to come, the memories created through your support will stay with these young men for a lifetime. 🙏🤝

It was a proud night for our school and our Rugby League program, showcasing the strength of our community and the character of our students.

🌸 Year 10 Ghibli High Tea Success 🌸

Congratulations to our Year 10 Food Specialisation students on the successful delivery of their Ghibli-themed High Tea in Week 8.

Guests were treated to a delightful selection of food and beverages, beautifully presented and inspired by the enchanting world of Studio Ghibli. The event provided students with the opportunity to showcase their skills in planning, preparation, presentation, and hospitality, with many staff members praising the quality of both the food and service.

A special thank you to our student hosts, Ashley Redman and Shaylee Doyle, as well as the waitstaff and kitchen team, for their professionalism, teamwork, and enthusiasm throughout the event.

Well done to all students involved for creating such a memorable and enjoyable experience for our guests. Your hard work, creativity, and dedication were evident in every aspect of the afternoon. 🌟👏

It’s Time To Reflect!

Weekly Reflections are a great way for students to take a look back at
their week and reflect on how they were successful, what challenges
they faced and what they learnt from the week.

Using the A.E.I.O.U method, the Student Planner guides students to
develop a practice of weekly reflection.

O is for ‘Others’ – How have I helped others this week?

Helping people is important as it allows us to better connect with others,
in turn creating stronger communities and helping to build a happier
society.
