Hello everyone, I am taking some time off. I will let you all know when I'm back. In the mean time if you see any wildlife in need of help please contact Wildlife Victoria or the Swan Hill wildlife shelter. https://www.facebook.com/share/1aEJZyCtV7/

Take care and take care of our wildlife. Thank you 😀💕

Whilst transporting a Joey today I removed a deceased adult male Swamp Wallaby from the middle of a highway. Please, if you see a deceased roo on our roads stop, check for a Joey and move them away from the road. Not only are they a hazard to other drivers but also to other animals of prey when they come to feed off the carcass. I realise that this may be too confronting for some people and some of you may be physically unable to help, in that case please call Wildlife Victoria, myself or someone else to assist. Thank you

Sadly these are just some of the wildlife that haven't been able to be saved. 💔

This last week has been very interesting I've had a barn owl, a white-bellied sea eagle, an eastern grey Joey, an echidna and a swamp Wallaby Joey. Thank you to all the people who stopped for these animals and called for help, I wouldn't have been able to help them without you!

Thank you to the kind member of public who after accidentally hitting a juvenile Kookaburra on the road, stopped to check if it was ok. The Kookaburra wasn't able to fly so he brought it to me so I could check it out. No broken bones, just a concussion. After having a safe place to rest and recover the Kookaburra will be fine to be released back where it was found. 💕

I received two calls today regarding two kangaroos hit by cars. I picked up one dear little Joey, he is doing really well. On my travels to collect the Joey I stopped, checked and moved two kangaroos away from the roadside. Brooke picked up a Corella that sadly had a spinal injury and needed to be humanly euthanized. Please take care on our roads and call someone for help if you see any injured wildlife. 💞

Yesterday I had a little Joey, a Corella and a galah come in. The Joey was a little dehydrated but should be fine. The Corella had an infection and a lot of fluid in its chest so I had to euthanize. The galah had been hit by a vehicle and had extensive chest injuries and internal bleeding and sadly passed away.

Last night this dear little girl came in battered and bruised. Her mum had been hit by a vehicle and she had been thrown from mums pouch onto the road. Thankfully some very kind people stopped and brought her to me. She has now been transported by members of our team to a Mildura Shelter for intensive care 💕

Update on the rainbow lorikeet.
Sadly after the swelling went down near the shoulder joint we were able to see a clear break so we had to humanly euthanize. ❤️‍🩹

Today we had an eastern grey kangaroo hit by a vehicle, unfortunately passed away before I got there.

I also picked up an injured rainbow lorikeet that a member of the public had found in a park the night before. Thank you to them for picking it up and keeping it safe. It has an infected wound on its back. Thank you to our amazing vet who was happy to have a look at the bird for me. We are treating with pain medication and antiseptic wipes for the wound.
