The Crochet Collective is back on again next Wednesday September 2nd! We'd love to see you come along and join in, bring along whatever handcraft you're currently working on!

Knitting, Crocheting, Cross Stitching, whatever it may be, we'd love to see it!

Sessions are run 4.45pm-5.45pm every second Wednesday. No bookings required but materials are BYO. Beginners welcome.

Throughout August, Share the Dignity is collecting sanitary products to help support girls and women experiencing hardship.
If you would like to contribute, a donation box is available at the Whyalla Public Library for unopened sanitary products. Donations close at the end of August, so there are only a few days remaining to take part.
Every donation helps provide someone in need with access to essential period products, while supporting their comfort and dignity. 💗

This year’s official Book Week theme is “Symphony of Stories”, beautifully illustrated by award-winning author and illustrator Briony Stewart.

There is even more to celebrate! 2026 marks the 80th anniversary of the Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) Book of the Year Awards — 80 years of celebrating wonderful Australian books and the stories that inspire generations of young readers.

Pop into the library and explore our special Book Week 2026 display, featuring a selection of books ready to be borrowed and enjoyed.
