Path 2 Change (P2C) is committed to providing young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, specialised support and access to education, training and employment opportunities. Path 2 Change contributes to the Going Home Staying Home reform through collaborative case-management with Specialist Homelessness Services, and applies the β€˜No Wrong Door’ approach to homelessness, in the Newcas

P2C can help young people to make the right connections in line with their skills and abilities, passion and drive, which leads to increased success in sustaining employment, in the longer term. P2C is dedicated to young people to become independent, connect with their communities, and less likely to be at risk of homelessness. We work with young people from Aboriginal and CALD backgrounds and the LGBT community, providing a culturally respectful and appropriate, inclusive and safe response, for young people who access our service.

πŸŒŸπŸ’¬ Celebrating Youth Week 2026 πŸ’¬πŸŒŸ

Youth Week 2026 is almost here, running from 16–26 April across NSW, and it is all about celebrating the voices, strengths and potential of young people in our communities.

This year’s theme, β€œDream. Dare. Do.”, encourages young people to dream big, take chances, and make things happen for their future.

At Path 2 Change, we see every day just how important this message is. For many of the young people we support who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness, the opportunity to dream, take risks, and build a future is not always easy. Youth Week is a powerful reminder that every young person deserves the chance to be heard, supported, and given opportunities to thrive. πŸ’™

This week is about celebrating young people, but also about recognising the challenges many face and continuing to work together as a community to create pathways forward.

If you are in the greater Hunter region and want to check out what is happening locally, check out the some of the events listed here:

Let’s celebrate, support, and stand alongside our young people this Youth Week 🌟

πŸš—πŸ’™ Got an hour a week to spare? You could change a young person’s life! πŸ’™πŸš—

We Need Volunteer Driver Mentors – Can You Help?

Path 2 Change is a not-for-profit organisation supporting vulnerable young people across the Hunter. We focus on breaking the cycle of homelessness by providing access to education, employment pathways, and wraparound support that empowers young people to create brighter futures.

One of the ways we do this is through our Pathway Wheels program, which helps young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness gain one of the most valuable tools for independenceβ€”a driver’s licence.

For many, learning to drive is more than just getting from A to B. It means:

βœ”οΈ Greater independence
βœ”οΈ Access to education and employment opportunities
βœ”οΈ A chance to build confidence and stability

But unlike most of us, many of the young people we work with don’t have family or community support to help them log the 120 driving hours required. That’s where volunteer mentors step in.

πŸ‘‰ If you can spare as little as one hour a week, you can make a life-changing difference. We are especially in need of mentors who are available Monday to Friday during the day, or in the evenings to help young people complete their hours (including much-needed night driving).

Here’s an NBN News story about the program and the difference it’s making:

πŸš—πŸŽ‰ Congratulations Caitlin! πŸŽ‰πŸš—

We are so proud to celebrate Caitlin, who has recently passed her P’s test! πŸ™Œ

This milestone represents so much more than just getting a licence. On the very same day Caitlin obtained her P’s, she was also offered a property, marking a huge step forward from an unstable situation into a more secure future.

Having her licence, access to a car, and now a place to call her own opens up a world of freedom, independence, and opportunity. It gives Caitlin the ability to pursue employment and continue building a stable and self sufficient life for herself.

This is a day Caitlin will never forget, and it is one that truly deserves to be celebrated. We are so proud of everything she has achieved and cannot wait to see what comes next πŸ’™

πŸŒŸπŸ’™ Celebrating Zack πŸ’™πŸŒŸ

We recently had the privilege of celebrating Zack as he graduated from one of our programs, giving us the chance to reflect on just how far he has come.

When we first met Zack back in 2022, he was quiet and kept to himself. Over time, as trust and connection grew, we began to see his personality shine through. Zack has a great sense of humour, strong values, and a genuine love for animals, especially his dog.

Throughout his journey, Zack has achieved so much. From navigating important life challenges and building stability, to working toward his goals and gaining his learner licence, his growth has been incredible to witness. He has shown resilience, determination, and a willingness to keep moving forward, even when things have not been easy.

Recently turning 21, Zack marked the occasion in his own way and even celebrated with a successful fishing trip, catching and releasing an impressive 1 metre long Jewfish. 🎣 A moment he was incredibly proud of, and one that reflects his passion and dedication.

It has been an absolute honour to walk alongside Zack and support him in achieving the goals he set for himself. We are so proud of everything he has accomplished and wish him all the very best for the future. πŸ’™

πŸ’™βœ¨ An Exciting New Partnership for Path 2 Change βœ¨πŸ’™

We are incredibly proud to share that Path 2 Change has been selected as the Charity Partner for Hunter Young Professionals for the next 12 months.

This partnership means access to fundraising opportunities and the chance for local businesses and professionals to become involved in supporting the work we do with young people who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. It is a wonderful opportunity to strengthen community connections and continue creating meaningful change.

Our CEO Jenn, along with staff members Joel and Sarah and our Board’s Vice Chairperson, Jasmine, had the pleasure of attending the launch event. Jenn also had the opportunity to speak about the work we do and the impact it has on the lives of the young people we support.

We feel so lucky and deeply grateful to have been chosen. A heartfelt thank you to Hunter Young Professionals for believing in our mission and walking alongside us over the next year. We are excited for what we can achieve together. πŸ’™

πŸ’™ A Big Thank You to Tara and Her Girls πŸ’™

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Tara, who recently came in with her two young girls to donate a beautiful selection of clothing for our young people to use for interviews and other important opportunities.

It was especially special to see Tara sharing the importance of giving back with her children and showing them how small acts of kindness can make a big difference in their local community. Donations like these help our young people feel confident, supported, and prepared as they step into interviews and new opportunities.

Thank you, Tara, for your generosity and for helping to pass on the value of community, empathy, and giving back 🌟

πŸš—πŸŽ‰ Congratulations Sophie! πŸŽ‰πŸš—

We are so excited to celebrate Sophie, who has officially passed her P’s test through the Pathway Wheels program! πŸ™Œ

Pathway Wheels supported Sophie to build her confidence behind the wheel and helped her feel ready to take this big step. Seeing that confidence grow and lead to such an exciting milestone is exactly what this program is all about.

We are incredibly proud of Sophie and so grateful to have been part of her journey. Congratulations on this well-earned achievement. We cannot wait to see all the opportunities this will open up for you πŸ’™

πŸš—πŸŽ‰ Congratulations Emily! πŸŽ‰πŸš—

We are so proud to celebrate Emily, who has officially passed her P’s test through the Pathway Wheels program! πŸ™Œ

This is another one of those special full-circle moments for us. Emily was one of the young people who joined Pathway Wheels early on. Seeing her reach this milestone is incredibly rewarding.

Balancing full-time school alongside work commitments is no small feat, yet Emily stayed dedicated, fitting in driving lessons whenever she could and never losing sight of her goal. All that hard work has truly paid off.

Emily, this achievement opens up a whole new world of independence and opportunity, and we couldn’t be prouder of you. Congratulations on such a well-earned milestone. We’re excited to see what’s next for you! πŸ’™

We are so excited to celebrate Aspen, who has officially passed her P’s test through the Pathway Wheels program! What an incredible achievement and such a powerful step toward independence and opportunity. πŸ™Œ

And honestly… what an amazing start to the year β€” with two new Pathway Wheels graduates already! Seeing our young people reach these milestones so early in the year fills us with so much pride and excitement for what’s ahead. πŸ’™

Aspen, we are so proud of you and can’t wait to see all the amazing things this next chapter brings. This is only the beginning and we know there is so much ahead for you. 🌟

πŸš—πŸ’™ Do You Remember Andrew? πŸ’™πŸš—

Andrew was featured in NBN News coverage of Pathway Wheels earlier this year.

If you missed it, you can watch it here:
πŸ‘‰ https://www.facebook.com/reel/1280425966365557

Today, we’re so excited to share the next chapter of his story. Andrew has officially passed his P’s test! πŸŽ‰

This feels like such a full-circle moment for Pathway Wheels. Andrew was one of the very first young people to come on board when the program began, and to now see him reach this milestone is incredibly special for all of us.

With four young children and a fifth on the way, being able to hop in the car and travel when he needs to is truly life changing. From getting to appointments, to accessing work opportunities, this licence opens up a whole new world of possibilities for Andrew and his family.

When Andrew first joined Pathway Wheels, he had just 8 driving hours under his belt. Even after moving further away and juggling some tight scheduling constraints, he still showed up week after week, putting in the effort whenever he could. Yesterday, he passed his test on his first attempt and with flying colours.

It’s a huge moment for Andrew, and honestly, a pretty big one for us too. We are so proud to have been part of his journey and to support him in achieving this incredible goal. Andrew, we cannot wait to see you go from strength to strength and smash every goal that comes your way. This is only the beginning. πŸ’™

🌿✨ Making Time for Team Wellbeing ✨🌿

Recently, our team at Path 2 Change enjoyed a wellbeing day out in beautiful Pokolbin in the Hunter Valley and what a day it was!

We kicked things off with axe throwing and laser clay shooting at the Hunter Adventure Centre, then wrapped things up with a bite to eat at 4 Pines at the Farm on the same site.

There were plenty of laughs, some fun banter, and more than a few playful bragging rights up for grabs along the way. These days give us the chance to relax, connect, and enjoy each other’s company outside of our usual roles.

We feel incredibly lucky to work at Path 2 Change, an organisation that truly values wellbeing and makes space for moments like this to build strong teams, meaningful connections, and a positive workplace culture. πŸ’™

πŸŽ„βœ¨ Festive Fun at Path 2 Change βœ¨πŸŽ„

Just before Christmas, we were lucky enough to host a Christmas BBQ for the young people we support and their families, bringing everyone together for a relaxed moment of good food, laughter and connection.

Along with enjoying a feed, our young people also had the chance to pick up their Christmas presents, which Santa had kindly dropped off early under our office Christmas tree. 🎁✨

It was such a special way to celebrate the season and share a little extra joy with the young people in our community. Moments like these remind us how powerful it is to come together and create memories and connections that last far beyond the holidays. πŸ’™
