Today we joined Clarkefield Fire Brigade, Bolinda-Monegeetta CFA, Springfield Fire Brigade and Romsey Fire Brigade up at the Central Highlands training ground in Ballan. We were spilt into two groups running through different types of fire extinguishers and how to use a fire blanket. We then ran through different scenarios BA scenarios and car accident scenarios. After lunch we swapped over scenarios. At the end we came together for a petrol tanker on fire. All in all we learnt heaps today and as always had fun. Huge thanks to our instructors and our pad instructors for having us.

Today is Wear Orange Wednesday, a day to celebrate and thank our wonderful Victoria State Emergency Service colleagues for all they do.

SES plays a critical role in emergency response, often responding alongside our CFA crews to protect Victorians.

On Monday night we had our AGM. At this meeting Commander Kelly attended and presented Lt Noel Petersen the National Emergency Medal for Services during the 2019/ 2020 fire season. We are extremely proud of Noel's efforts and achievements. We congratulate Noel on his excellent service not only to the Darraweit guim community but the state of Victoria.

Are you or have you been seeing smoke in the air or columns of smoke around the area lately? The reason for this is we are now out of fire restrictions but we also have farmers in the area doing large paddock burn offs, which these larger burn offs do require permits.
