What do you do when workers are under attack? Stand up, fight back! Workers taking action this month include 160 ASU members at Queensland’s Western Downs Council who were locked out over a 2-hour stopwork in support of current EBA claims; AMWU members at Campbells Soups in Shepparton, taking 24-hour strike action to oppose sackings and win better wages and conditions; and ETU members at 5 Goldwind Wind Farms locations in Victoria, NSW and Tasmania stopping work to force their employer, a privatised Chinese multinational, to the negotiating table. Significantly, these three examples are all in rural or regional centres.
