Umingan in Pangasinan was where Lt. Robert Lapham was based and started an effective guerilla force. They liberated Balete Pass and joined the operation to rescue the POWs in Cabanatuan. After fighting at the Balete Pass concluded the Japanese Imperial forces were basically defeated in Luzon. 🇯🇵

Lt. Robert Lapham was nearly captured and killed but they hid him under a large wooden rice processing tool which the family of Rajah Gloman Membrere Merritt have in their collection including the other gifts Lapham gave to his family. A book called Lapham Raiders was written about the accounts of this guerrilla force. 🇺🇸🇵🇭
