In greater numbers than ever, children ravaged by hunger are flooding the Patients’ Friends Hospital, the main emergency center for malnourished kids in northern Gaza.

Babies weigh less than newborns.
Toddlers cry, not for toys, but for food they may never receive.
Mothers stare blankly, helpless, as their children wither in front of their eyes.

A quality education is crucial in breaking the cycle of poverty!

Poverty and education are intertwined. In fact, one of the biggest contributors to global poverty is lack of access to education. Without a quality education, children struggle to develop the skills necessary to find employment and improve their circumstances and those of their future families. A lack of education restricts a child’s ability to dream of a life beyond poverty.

As of December 2024, an estimated 737,000 children had been internally displaced by the hostilities. A further 1.7 million were refugees, many of them separated from a parent, usually their father.In the face of ongoing conflict and crisis, millions of Ukrainian children are growing up in fear, displacement, and trauma. Schools are destroyed. Families are torn apart. Innocent lives are on hold.

At Global United Children Mentorship (GUCM), we believe that every child deserves a future filled with safety, care, and opportunity—not war.

Thank You for Feeding Bellies and Fueling Minds 🖤
Thanks to your support, children at the Simerantihan Elementary School receive daily breakfasts, lunches, and healthy fruit snacks. Beyond feeding hungry bellies, these meals encourage kids to attend and stay in school. Your kindness is helping them to stay focused and set themselves up for success!

Education Opens Doors

With your help, kids can concentrate on their studies, graduate from school and go on to work in higher paying jobs. These jobs can help lift themselves, their families and entire communities from poverty!

Plus, with a reliable income, there’s less need to turn to harmful practices like illegal logging or wildlife trade to earn money.

Meals that Nourish

Your kindness is providing meals that are both nutritious and delicious. All meals are thoughtfully planned to support growing bodies and developing minds. They are made daily by a dedicated team of local cooks.

Breakfast includes hearty options like:

bread
cereal drinks
mung bean porridge
fried rice with egg
kolak– a traditional Indonesian sweet banana soup.
Lunch is usually rice with vegetables and protein, such as chicken, eggs, or anchovies.

Ingredients are sourced locally, supporting farmers and families within the community.

Big and Bright Futures

Teachers are already seeing the impacts. Kids are arriving with more energy, eagerly participating, and staying focused and engaged. Attendance rates are rising– and it’s all thanks to you!

Clean Water and Sanitation: Keys to Health and Development
Mothers
They can’t cook, wash clothes or bathe their children.

Children
They contract diarrhea and cholera, two waterborne diseases that are the leading cause of death for children under 5 in Cameroon.

Women and Girls
They risk being attacked on their way to retrieving water for basic needs that’s up to 10 miles away.

Farmers
They contract waterborne diseases from drinking contaminated water and suffer failed crops from no irrigation. Farmers who can’t earn a living wage are unable to feed or shelter their families.

People Living in Poverty
They lack the money to buy the most basic hygiene supplies; they have no health education system to teach them the elementary hygiene habits and disease prevention methods that could extend their lives.

The Person Most Essential to Our Lifesaving Work: You
We’re making an impact in Lebanon, Syria, Uganda, and many other areas around the world in desperate need of conditions that meet the most basic living standards. The clean water we all need to survive—to drink, to bathe, to grow food without risking disease—is an essential human necessity. Here’s what we’re accomplishing thanks to your support:

Installing new wells and rebuilding damaged water and sewer lines
Building and repairing safe and sanitary school bathrooms
Implementing life-saving water purification systems
Teaching the right way to wash hands after using the bathroom and before eating and preparing food
Training the people who benefit from installed wells, water and sewer lines, and rainwater-harvesting systems to keep those systems functioning and do minor repairs with existing or donated tools
