Today is World Environment Day, a chance to recognise the work happening across our City to protect and strengthen our local environment.

At City of Parramatta, that work spans everything from restoring bushland and supporting biodiversity, to planting thousands of trees each year, expanding FOGO to reduce landfill, and improving the health of our waterways.

Council is also leading by example, with ongoing investment in solar, EV infrastructure and energy efficiency upgrades.

These efforts are part of a broader commitment to regeneration, resilience and climate action, helping to create a greener, cooler and more sustainable Parramatta for our community now and into the future.

There are also plenty of ways to get involved, from joining Bushcare and community gardens to taking part in sustainability workshops and local programs.

You can learn more about these opportunities, efforts and initiatives on our website at cityofparramatta.nsw.gov.au/environment

Every action, big or small, plays a role in shaping the future of our City.

Happy World Environment Day, Parramatta 🌳💚
