๐ณ๏ธโ๐ ๐ณ๏ธโโง๏ธ As we mark Pride Month in June, we are reminded of the importance of creating environments where everyone feels seen, respected, and safe. As an organisation, we embrace the diversity of our people, clients, and community. We are committed to an inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and able to bring their whole selves to work.
At The Benevolent Society, our National Support Centre recently took part in ACON's LGBTQA+ Induction Training. Our Support Centre is the voice of our organisation, connecting potential clients with our services and supporting them throughout their journey with us. Reflecting on the response to the training, Siavash (He/Him), National Support Centre Manager says "We love it when education springs us to action and into something meaningful that will positively impact our clients."
Staff will also have the chance to participate in ACON40's sessions designed to strengthen allyship skills and confidence in understanding how and why it plays a vital role in LGBTQIA+ inclusion.
Being an ally is more than good intentions; it's an ongoing practice that involves awareness, reflection, and the confidence to act. It includes standing up for LGBTQIA+ rights even when they are not there to witness it.
