Earlier this week I had the opportunity to connect with a local Sunshine Coast counsellor who is passionate about supporting people in our community.

It reminded me that none of us can do this work alone.
At Companion Crew, I believe supporting older people is about more than helping someone get from A to B or sharing a cuppa and a chat. It's about building connections, reducing loneliness, supporting wellbeing, and helping people remain engaged in the community they love.

That's why I value connecting with other local professionals and service providers who share a genuine commitment ot making a difference in peple's lives.

Whether it's counsellors, allied health professionals, aged care providers, community groups, or local business. We all have a role to play in helping our older people feel supported, valued and connected.
Thank you to the wonderful people in our community who are working every day to make that happen.

Because connection really does make all the difference. 🧡

I'm always happy to connect with people, families and local professionals who share a passion for helping older people in our community live well and stay connected. If you'd like to learn more about Companion Crew, feel free to reach out for a friendly chat.

One thing I’ve been thinking about lately is just how important trust and rapport are when supporting older people to remain living independently in their own homes.
Sometimes it’s not just the physical tasks that can feel overwhelming. For some older people, paperwork, forms, appointments, letters, or simply trying to process information can bring a lot of anxiety and cognitive overload.
But when you take the time to genuinely build a strong connection and rapport, something really special happens… they feel safe enough to ask for help.
Not because they’re incapable — but because they trust you.
At Companion Crew I believe supporting someone’s independence also means supporting their confidence, dignity, and peace of mind in the everyday things that can quietly become stressful behind closed doors.
It's the little things that can make a big difference. 🧡

Today I’ve been out introducing Companion Crew to local allied health providers and having some really lovely conversations about the importance of social connection, independence, and supporting older people to continue living meaningful lives within our community.

Some days it's not the big things that people need help with the most its the small things.
Having a friendly face around.
Having a chat over a cuppa.
Having someone to help them get out and about again.
Having someone consistent in their corner.

Because connection does make all the difference. 🧡🧡

Working within the aged care space lately has really opened my eyes to how many older people are quietly navigating loneliness, being overwhelmed with the challenge of trying to stay independent while managing everyday life.

That's one of the reasons I started Companion Crew, it's not just to provide support, but to create meaningful connections, offering consistency and companionship for our older people and offering peace of mind for their families.

Because connection really does make all the difference.🧡

Hi and welcome to Companion Crew 💛

If you’re new here, I just wanted to say thank you for being part of this journey—it truly means so much.

Companion Crew was created to support older people to stay connected, independent, and engaged in their everyday lives. A lot of the time, it’s just the simple things — a cuppa, getting out and about, or having someone to chat to.

If you’re here because you’re looking for support for a loved one, or just curious about what I do, feel free to reach out or say hello 👋

And if you know someone who might benefit from a little extra companionship and connection, I’d love you to share this page with them.

🌺 ANZAC Day 🌺

Today’s a day that means a lot to so many — especially for our older generation.

There are so many stories, memories, and connections tied to this day… and sometimes all someone needs is the space to share them.

A lot of the time, it’s just the simple things — a cuppa, a quiet moment, or someone there to listen.

That’s what Companion Crew is all about.

Because connection makes all the difference — not just today, but every day.

Lest we forget 🌺

Companion Crew is here to support older people with meaningful connection, social support, and getting out and about ☀️

Heading out today to drop off some brochures and continue a few lovely conversations with local aged care teams — very grateful for the support and interest so far. 🙂

I had a really great chat today with the team at TriCare 💚

It’s so nice meeting people who truly value connection and supporting older people to stay independent and engaged in their everyday lives.

I’m feeling really excited about the opportunity to work alongside services like this and bring Companion Crew into the mix.

A lot of the time, it’s just the simple things — a coffee, getting out and about, or having someone to chat with — that make all the difference ☕
