More storms are expected this afternoon. There is already plenty of water around and it won’t take much for more flash flooding to occur.

Please keep yourself safe and don’t drive on flooded roads. Our crews have already responded to a number of rescues today.

Check for road closures before you travel and if it’s flooded, forget it.

🌧️ As heavy rain starts to impact the Darling Downs, Police would like to remind motorists to adhere to all road closures and never drive through floodwater.

If you need to be on the road, please drive to the conditions, manually turn on your lights and allow extra space and time.

Always remember, if it's flooded, forget it.

Our crews are facing challenging conditions this weekend with heightened fire danger expected across Queensland’s southern and southeastern interior.

With hot and windy conditions forecast, any fires that start may spread quickly and be hard to contain.

Ground crews are prepared for the forecast conditions and water bombing aircraft have been strategically positioned to assist if required.

Always be aware of conditions in your area and report any unattended fires to Triple Zero (000) immediately.

Make sure you have your bushfire survival plan ready and stay tuned to bushfire warnings via the QFD website, social media channels or your local radio station.

Requirements:
• Be 16 years or older
• Be willing to complete training
• Work well as part of a team
• Have a positive attitude and a desire to help your community

No experience is necessary—we provide all training, PPE, and ongoing support.
