Fire and Rescue NSW Station 441 Sawtell

There is a large pile of green waste burning on the old Sawtell sewerage treatment site. This fire is producing large volumes of thick smoke and will likely continue burning for several hours at least. The fire is well contained and poses no threat to residential areas in the vicinity. Residents in the area are advised to close doors and windows to prevent smoke entering dwellings and if possible run air conditioning units in recycle mode.

You may have seen our team's out and about with drones this week, some of latest technology which provides us with the opportunity to inspect difficult roofs without the hazards and risks of working at heights.
We (the community of greater Sawtell) extend our thanks to all the crews from Fire and Rescue, and our sister services who answered the call and came to lend a hand to those in need following the severe storm activity on Wednesday and again on Saturday.

‼️ TOORMINA COMMAND CENTRE ‼️

The NSW SES have setup a Mobile Command Centre at Toormina Sports Fields.

Members of the public are welcome to come down to the Command Centre to request assistance to perform temporary Storm Damage repairs to your property, especially if you are unable to get through to our Operations Centre on 132 500.

👉 When you see our teams out in the field, please be nice and respectful with our them, They’re working as hard as they can to work through all the jobs as quickly and safely as they can.
