I have been your strong, independent voice on Council for the past five years. With over 20 years’ experience in law enforcement, security and defence, I know how to keep our community safe. I served Australia overseas with the Army, graduated from the Australian Army Command and Staff College, and I’m a current serving Police Officer. I am honoured to have served the community as North Ward Counc

illor since 2017. I have been a strong and passionate voice for lower rates, increased transparency, and sensible spending. I believe that councillors work FOR the community and should always put the needs of residents and ratepayer’s first. I want to increase community consultation in Shire activities and improve transparency on Council because local government should be relevant, responsive and responsible.

Opening doors for our community

This morning I officially opened the Byford Administration Centre, strengthening local access to Council services in one of the fastest growing areas in our Shire.

The centre provides a place for residents to meet with our specialist teams for planning, building and environmental health advice, alongside a range of general customer services. It is designed to support clear communication and efficient service delivery as our community continues to grow.

For convenience, payments can also be made online at www.sjshire.wa.gov.au.

Today I attended the funeral of former Councillor and Honorary Freeman, John Kirkpatrick, held at St Paul’s Church in Jarrahdale.

It was a fitting place to farewell John, given the important role he played in the restoration and preservation of this historic community landmark.

John’s contribution to the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale spanned decades. As a Councillor for many years, he was a dedicated representative, a strong advocate for the community and someone who cared deeply about the future of our Shire.

Beyond Council, John’s service through the Jarrahdale Bushfire Brigade and his commitment to projects such as St Paul’s Church reflected his passion for supporting and strengthening the community he called home.

Today we remembered John, celebrated his life and acknowledged the lasting legacy he leaves behind.

On behalf of the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale, I extend my sincere condolences to John’s family and friends.

🌱 Preserving local character while delivering community infrastructure.

As part of the Gooralong car park project, five grass trees that were temporarily relocated to make way for construction have now been successfully transplanted back to the site following 12 months in the care of a tree specialist.

A further 10 grass trees from the site will be transplanted to nearby Heritage Park, where similar soil conditions will help support their long-term health and growth.

These efforts help ensure some of the area's unique native vegetation can continue to thrive while supporting important improvements for the community.

Today we celebrate the recognition of Constellar at Cardup Junction as a recipient of the six-element EnviroDevelopment certification by the Urban Development Institute of Australia (WA).
This achievement reflects the importance of creating places that are more than just houses, they are communities where people can connect, belong and build a shared future.

At the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale, we believe great communities are built through thoughtful planning, protecting our natural environment, creating welcoming spaces, and supporting connections between neighbours.

Constellar at Cardup Junction demonstrates what can be achieved when sustainability, landscape preservation and community-building come together.

Congratulations to Richard Noble & Company and Gold Estates for this recognition and for their commitment to helping create connected, sustainable communities for generations to come.
