Earlier this month, Centrecare proudly celebrated the 10-year anniversary of the Child and Parent Centre (CPC) Gosnells. Since opening their doors, CPC Gosnells in partnership with Gosnells Primary School, has become safe and vibrant hub where families with children aged 0–8 can learn, grow, and thrive.
Joined by the Member for Thornlie, Colleen Egan, families, partners, Education Department colleagues, and community supporters came together to acknowledge a decade of collaboration, learning, and shared commitment to supporting local children and families.
Each year the Centre welcomes over 6,000 adults and 6,500 children, accessing services ranging from Child Health Nurse appointments, immunisation sessions, and speech pathology to early learning activities, parenting workshops, school holiday programs, and community celebrations. To date, 1,403 families have formally registered with the Centre, demonstrating the trust the community places in its services.
Today, Gosnells CPC delivers more than 50 programs, each designed to be practical, culturally welcoming, and responsive to local needs. Alongside core programs such as playgroups, creche, Story Time, and parenting sessions, the Centre has introduced new initiatives including Mum’s Chill and Chat, Little Learners Meet and Greet, wellness programs for mothers, and English language support for parents. These programs help ensure that every family can access high-quality, respectful support.
The Centre supports families across six local primary schools: Gosnells Primary, Huntingdale Primary, Ashburton Drive Primary, Wirrabirra Primary, Seaforth Primary, and St Munchins. Guidance from senior education leaders including Jane Roberts, Kathryn Hardwick, Sandy Friemond, Catherine Spherd, Robyn Kinkade, Garry Hewett, and Andree Stevens has been instrumental in strengthening early-years and school-transition pathways.
Strong partnerships remain central to the Centre’s success. Organisations such as Anglicare, the Department of Health and Education, Child Development Services, City of Gosnells, Communicare, Foodbank, Food Sensations, Bunnings, Save the Children and Djinda Dreaming have helped shape CPC Gosnells into a trusted community space.
As we celebrate this milestone, Centrecare extends heartfelt thanks to every child, parent, staff member, volunteer, partner agency, and to Gosnells Primary School for their unwavering support.
Together, we look forward to many more years of building resilience, strengthening families, and fostering a sense of belonging within the Gosnells community.
