Great to see 11 young people from the Y NSW Youth Parliament program attend National Youth Parliament in Canberra this week to connect with young people from electorates across the country, delivered by The Y Australia and Australia's House of Representatives.

It was an inspiring experience and as usual young people from NSW did an incredible job.

Extra special to see Imamah and Emma win the supervisor award, chosen from among their cohort of 150 for their dedication, passion, positive spirit, and care for others around them.

Keeping making us proud! Any young people in NSW who want to use their voice and continue their advocacy journey should sign up to our email list in our bio, or reach out directly to the team at [email protected]

Home is more than a roof over your head. It’s safety, stability, belonging, and the foundation for a young person’s future.

This Homelessness Week, we’re amplifying the voices of our 2026 participants, who shared powerful insights, personal reflections, and policy solutions on housing and homelessness, particularly its impacts on young people experiencing homelessness.

Hear directly from young people on why housing stability matters, and why action must be taken now. Because young people should be focused on their future, not worrying about where they’ll sleep tonight.

Watch the full debates on our YouTube channel via the link in our bio.

25 years. Thousands of young leaders. One magical program.

Last week was an absolutely incredible week at the Y NSW Youth Parliament 2026. From passionate debates in the NSW Parliament chamber to late-night chats, new friendships, and unforgettable behind-the-scenes moments, this year’s program showcased exactly why young people belong at the centre of decision-making.

Over the week, young people in grades 10-12 from across NSW stepped up and brought their ideas for a better state to the floor, demonstrating the power of youth voice in action.

As we celebrate 25 years of the Y NSW Youth Parliament, we’re reminded that young people aren’t just the leaders of tomorrow, they’re leading conversations, creating change and shaping communities today.

From one of our 2026 participants:

“Participating in the Y NSW Youth Parliament has really broadened my perspective on civic engagement and leadership. It’s given me the confidence to speak up about issues I care about and has shown me that young people can truly influence change.”

A huge thank you to our partners NSW Parliament Office for Youth NSW and Scape Student Living , whose commitment to backing young voices continues to create opportunities for these changemakers.

Thank you to the many Members of Parliament for your support of our Youth Parliamentarians throughout the week.
