t made up of 647 officers and soldiers from a range of corps. 1 CSSB is made up of five different sub-units; Logistic Support Company, Logistic Support Element (Adelaide), 101st Field Workshop Company, 1st Transport Squadron and 1st Supply Company. Our barracks function of providing formation level Combat Service Support replicates our field role. On a day-to-day basis, all units within the 1st Brigade rely heavily on the support provided by 1 CSSB. HISTORY
The 1st Combat Service Support Battalion was formed in April 1997 and traces its lineage to the First World War Service Corps units whose badge it bears today. The Battalion's primary function is to provide combat service support to the 1st Brigade in order to sustain mechanised operations in the defence of Australia and its interests. The Battalion currently comprises maintenance, supply and distribution (including heavy haulage) capabilities.
