Another successful GRAFF-OFF!

The program targets young offenders who have been referred either by the way of a Youth Justice Conference Outcome Plan or Community – Based Court Order. The program is a paint-out service in order to allow young offenders to make reparation to the community and have a positive engagement with Police.

This program would not be successful without the support of City of Wollongong and Shellharbour City Council of who supply the much-needed paint and equipment to keep this program ongoing.

If you are aware of a location (Council owned property) that could use a visit from our program please leave a comment and or picture.

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD)

The abuse and mistreatment of older people is a complex health, justice and social issue that can have devastating consequences for older people, their families and communities. It is challenging to identify and can take many forms including financial, psychological, physical, and sexual abuse as well as more passive forms of neglect.

One of the most important steps in protecting older people from abuse is to increase knowledge about the signs of abuse and what to do to take action in response.

WEAAD is observed each year and provides a valuable opportunity to engage with community to raise awareness of the signs of elder abuse and the pathways available to obtain advice and seek help and assistance.

Lake Illawarra Police will be in attendance at the Shellharbour Civic Centre on Wednesday the 17th June for the free screening of a short film Piano Forte followed by a question and answer session. Please see flyer for registration and further details.
