‘The ANZAC’ illumination honouring our local servicemen and women is on display at The Barossa Council.

The display runs from dusk until dawn until April 26 and is supported by a grant by the SA Government

Twenty-four images, including this one of Nuriootpa's Matron Lorna Simon who served in the Australian Imperial Force in WWI and WWII, are being projected onto the Nuriootpa Council building as part of the region's ANZAC Day commemorations.

ANZAC Day 2026 Services will be held at the following locations in The Barossa Council region:

• Nuriootpa - Assemble for march at corner Murray Street and Gawler Street at 6am. March to RSL clubrooms on Memorial Avenue for Dawn Service.

• Tanunda - Dawn Service 6.15am for 6.30am commencement at the Garden of Remembrance, Murray Street. Muster 10.45 am at Basedow Road at the intersection with Murray Street. March commences with 11am step-off from Basedow Road across Murray Street and down Bilyara Road to the RSL Hut.

• Angaston - Dawn Service at 6.15am at Angaston War Memorial, Murray Street.

• Mount Pleasant - Public service at 6.15am at Soldiers' Memorial Hall, Melrose Street.

• Williamstown - Public service 6.30am at RSL Hall carpark, Memorial Drive.

• Springton - Dawn Service at 6am, Main Flagpole opposite Springton Primary School.

• Lyndoch - Dawn Service at 6am, Institute Memorial Gardens

Are you a 15–30 year-old Williamstown local looking for a creative outlet and a chance to unleash your inner street artist?

🖌️ Registrations are now open to join artist Simon K Burt STILES.be for a series of FREE public art workshops, in Williamstown, over seven weeks. Participants will learn the tools of the trade and put them into practice on a soon to be installed public art wall at the Williamstown Pump track (behind the Williamstown Hotel) before creating a final public art masterpiece.

🚸 School's back ..... and with it, new 40 km/h time-based school speed limits at Williamstown Primary School and Nuriootpa High School (once new speed limit signs are installed).

As advised by Department for Infrastructure and Transport, the new speed limit will apply on a section of Lyndoch Valley Road, Williamstown and Murray Street, Nuriootpa, on school days when children are travelling to and from school during 8am - 9.30am and 2pm - 4pm (this excludes weekends, public holidays and school holidays).
