🔥 UPDATE – BURNING RESTRICTIONS EASING SOON 🔥
Following advice from the Shire of Murray, the Prohibited Burning Time has been shortened, with Restricted Burning Time starting from Saturday.
While this is a positive step, it’s important to remember that conditions are still dry across our area, and fire risk remains.
⚠️ Burning is NOT automatically allowed every day
If the Fire Danger Rating is High or above, or a Total Fire Ban or HVMB is in place — no burning is permitted.
Before lighting any fire:
✔️ Check the daily Fire Danger Rating
✔️ Notify your Permit Issuing Officer
✔️ Obtain a permit when required
✔️ Contact DFES Communications
🔥 Take care when burning — have water on hand, never leave fires unattended, and fully extinguish before leaving.
👨🚒 Let’s all do the right thing and keep our community safe as we move into the next phase of the season.
