Newcastle Transport is the integrated transport service for the people of Newcastle, proudly operated by Keolis Downer. Keolis Downer took over public transport operations in Newcastle and east Lake Macquarie in July 2017 and launched a new bus and ferry network in January 2018. At this time, Keolis Downer also launched an On Demand service that operates in east Lake Macquarie. In February 2019, K

eolis Downer also began operating the Newcastle light rail service, making Newcastle Transport a truly multi modal operation. Newcastle Transport serves the existing Newcastle Buses and Ferries service area, which includes the Newcastle local government area and Newcastle harbour, as well as eastern Lake Macquarie, from Adamstown Heights and Swansea Heads. Throughout the ten year contract, Keolis Downer will continue working with community to get ideas about how to make the system work better and make public transport a more attractive option for all Novocastrians. Did you know that the Sunflower is a globally recognised symbol for non-visible disabilities?🌻

Our staff are trained to look out for customers wearing the Sunflower lanyard across bus, ferry and light rail.

The sunflower discreetly lets our team know that the wearer may need more time or extra support during their journey.
