With the start of the New Year we have the opportunity look back at our acheivements of 2025.
Over the year we supported our local community by completing 550 incidents around the Tomaree and Tilligerry Penninsulas. Not including Out Of Area Deployments to Taree, Maitland and Raymond Terrace to assist with flood rescues and storm damage.
Our job stats:
395 Storm incidents involving damaged roofs and trees down.
5 Support roles for the NSW Police and Fire Rescue for land searches, building stabilisation and lighting for scenes.
145 Flood Support incidents from providing sandbags to pumps for flood affected properties.
5 Flood Rescues which is a new record for our unit in which people were surrounded by flood waters or had driven into flood waters and became stuck.
Our members completed over 6000 operational hours on top of the regular training and preparing for storm events. Our busiest month was May in which 170 incidents were completed followed by January where we completed 114 incidents.
We provided over 8000 sandbags and over 25m3 of sand to provide property protection from flooding. Plenty of early mornings and late nights and countless km for both our local community and Out Of Area Deployments.
With all these incidents this makes it our 2nd busisest year on record! We usually average 285 incidents a year 😳
Lets hope 2026 is quiter for all of our volunteers and our community.
