Narby, supported by Marysville and Buxton responded late afternoon to a motor vehicle accident on the Black Spur, just past the caravan park going south.
Luckily no injuries and all that was required was to manage traffic ( with VicPol) and ensure that “kitty litter” was spread on the oil spill.
The road was closed for approximately 15minutes to keep the clean up team safe.

This afternoon Narby, Buxton and Marysville, Healesville and Taggerty were paged to help clear multiple oil spills off the Black Spur Rd.
Luckily the job was put on STOP as for the first time in a very long time we at Narby had no crew available!🙁 Our team were all unavailable for different reasons such as working away, illness, down in Melbourne etc!
But…. as part of the big CFA team, Marysville, Buxton, Healesville and Taggerty all turned out.

On Saturday night Narbethong Brigade celebrated our Awards Dinner. What a great evening with a turn out of over 80 people with members ranging from a couple of months to 55years!
Service awards ranged from 5 to 55 years!
National Awards were presented!
The evening truly recognised many years of service, dedication and the history or our brigade (further details to come in another post).

The ACFO Stephen Keating was there along with our great District 12 BASO Pip Johnson and CFA board member and Toolangi Captain, Dawn Hartog AFSM (thanks for the support)!

Our 1st Lieut Steve did a great job as MC and our Capt. Rob spoke of the brigades 64 year history. Thanks to Dannilee for the great organisation and to the Lions club for the catering.

Andrew Gardner from the Community Bank - Upwey and District (Bendigo Bank) (our wonderful main sponsor for the evening) spoke enthusiastically about their role in rural communities with a tantalising hint of some future support!!!

It was truly a great evening with old and new members, family, sponsors, our colleagues from Marysville CFA and CFA leadership!

The four Triangle brigades came together on Thursday for a session on BA ( breathing apparatus) as a refresher for those qualified and a briefing for those who support BA qualified fire fighters.
It was well attended and thanks to Cmdr. Dally for the presentation! Great to have the bigger Team together monthly.
Thanks Buxton for organising it and Marysville for hosting us all.

A public shout out to all the Team.
Just in case you don’t know:
CFA firefighters are almost all volunteers, no payments at all. In our little brigade all the turn outs, training, admin, brigade management meetings, community events etc are all in the volunteers own time.
Thats why we celebrate Volunteers Week and give a shout out to the other brigades and the SES!

It's National Volunteer Week (18–24 May 2026) and our volunteers truly are worth their weight in gold.

Thank you to all our amazing CFA volunteers for everything you do.
