Selected students from Year 8 and 9 participated in the Inspire poetry workshop series run by Miles Merrill from Word Travels. Students learnt about writing in stream of consciousness and about the possibility of change in poetry.
Students were engaged and fascinated by the slam poetry style and some wonderful students even challenged themselves to present their written works to the class.
Thanks for your time Miles and for demonstrating how powerful spoken word can be!

Today's lesson saw students create delicious Bánh Mì, a traditional Vietnamese-style sandwich. Students demonstrated excellent practical skills as they prepared fresh ingredients and assembled their own versions of this popular dish.

The Stage 4 debating team recently competed against Dunheved Campus, tackling the topic:
"All school sports carnivals should be optional."
Representing the affirmative side, our students presented well-researched arguments and demonstrated excellent teamwork, confidence and public speaking skills throughout the debate. While the team ultimately did not secure the win, they should be commended for their preparation, determination and the way they represented CCMDC.

Year 7 and 8 Clontarf students proudly represented the academy at the Sydney Regional Junior Clontarf Carnival. Competing against academies from across the region, the boys demonstrated teamwork, resilience and sportsmanship while enjoying a BBQ provided by Woolworths.
The experience began with an overnight stay in the academy room, followed by dinner at Minelli's Pizzeria & Café. The camp provided a valuable team-building opportunity and helped prepare the boys for a successful and enjoyable day of competition.
