Every year I post about how much I love this Moranbah tradition — seeing the Moranbah kids from our grand final teams, no matter the sport, proudly displayed down Mills Ave. 💙❤️

There’s just something about it. It brings our town together and reminds us how much we love getting behind our local teams.

And today, it’s the Moranbah Miners! 🏉

A huge congratulations to our Under 20s, Ladies and A Grade teams who have ALL made it through to the Grand Final. Three teams in a Grand Final is something pretty special!

One thing I’ve realised this year is that all those years I spent complaining about weekends on the sidelines, the travelling, the early mornings and just how much time footy — or whatever sport your kids choose — takes up… I actually wouldn’t trade them for anything.

This year my eldest moved into seniors. He has his licence. He can get himself there. Technically, I don’t have to spend every weekend at the footy anymore.

Yet… here I am. 😂

Still on the sidelines. Still cheering. And today I’ll be there again, hopefully losing my voice supporting the Miners.

We all complain about the driving too, but those hours in the car with our kids — chatting about everything and nothing, eating McDonald’s nuggets and listening to each other’s music — are hours I wouldn’t trade for anything.

Turns out the sideline years go far too quickly.

So here’s to the end of another sporting season, to all the parents who have clocked up more kilometres than they care to calculate, and most importantly, congratulations to the Moranbah Miners on having THREE teams in today’s Grand Finals.

Moranbah is behind you today. 💙❤️

Now… let’s go Miners! Can’t wait to lose my voice. 📣🏉

It takes courage to take an idea, back yourself and turn it into something that can make a real difference for others.

Willow & Ark Wellness is all about providing a safe, compassionate and non-judgemental space for people who may be feeling overwhelmed, navigating change or simply not quite sure what their next step looks like.

Sometimes people don’t need someone to “fix” everything — they just need someone to listen, help them work through what’s in front of them and connect them with the right support.

Sherrie, congratulations on taking this step and bringing another valuable support service to our community. Wishing you every success with this next chapter.

There’s still time to pop down to the Women in Mining and Resources Queensland Health & Wellness Expo at the Isaac Events Centre today! 🙌

I’ve already had so many great conversations this afternoon, with plenty of fantastic organisations and services here sharing information, resources and support around health and wellbeing.

The Expo is on until 7pm tonight, so if you’re in Moranbah, come down, have a wander, ask some questions and see what’s available right here in our region.

So beyond proud to have helped with my various hats over the years with the Isaac Regional Charity Fund Mayor's Charity Ball. And yesterday without a doubt I was left lost for words when both Country Universities Centre Isaac and BMA CQ Rescue were both presented the $100,000 each as a result of funds raised at the event.

Kelly Vea Vea - Mayor Isaac Region the ripple effect is very real for both organisations.

The 2026 Mayor’s Charity Ball has delivered an incredible $200,000 to be shared between Country Universities Centre Isaac and CQ Rescue.

Not many Saturday’s include visiting a Teddy Bear Hospital but MDSS Moranbah made magic happen this morning in Town Square with the Teddy Bear Picnic.
