We dusted off the teapots and our finest china and came together to host a Biggest Morning Tea in support of cancer research. It was a simple but meaningful way to give back and acknowledge those impacted. Residents and staff shared delicious treats and good company. We’re grateful for the opportunity to come together in support of such an important cause. We were thrilled to raise almost $400 on the day for the Cancer Council Australia.

It was a night devoted to those who give so much—our wonderful volunteers.
This special evening celebrated the generosity, care and heart they share with residents each day, from delivering the daily newspaper to every floor to driving our buses for outings and adventures.
Volunteers and their families enjoyed a warm, festive atmosphere with delicious food, flowing drinks and meaningful connection. The evening featured an inspiring address from Sheina Gutnick, educator and Jewish community advocate, along with vibrant live music from Sadya Liberow and Mendy Winner.
A highlight of the night was our Heart of Emmy Awards, presented to beloved bus drivers Roger, Phil and Ray, who together have given 25 years of service. Friends since kindergarten, their lifelong bond reflects their incredible generosity.
We are deeply grateful for everything our volunteers do to support and enrich the lives of our residents.

Care goes beyond the walls of Emmy Monash. On Sunday, our team proudly participated in the Melbourne Memory Walk & Jog with the support of the Emmy Monash Foundation. It was inspiring to see everyone come together to raise awareness of dementia, while showing strong team spirit and a shared commitment to those living with the condition.
Almost $2,000 was raised for Dementia Australia by our team. This support helps fund vital services including counselling, education, support lines, and ongoing research, as more people in the community need access to care and assistance.

Today, on International Nurses Day, we celebrate and thank the incredible nurses at Emmy Monash.
As we mark 85 years of caring for our community, our nurses provide expert care, reassurance, and dignity when it matters most.
Aged care nursing is complex, demanding, and deeply meaningful.
To our nurses, and the care staff who support them - thank you for the difference you make, every single day.

Special thanks to Gunn & McConville Pharmacy for supporting our Nurses Day gifts.

We were pleased to welcome Federal Minister for Aged Care, Sam Rae, alongside Josh Burns MP and Dan Repacholi MP to Emmy Monash.
It was a valuable opportunity to discuss the future for aged care, the challenges that we face as a culturally specific provider, and the needs of our community. Most importantly, the Ministers spent time with residents, hearing first-hand about their experiences and what quality care means to them.

On Sunday, 17 May, the Emmy Monash team will be participating in the Melbourne Memory Walk & Jog Dementia Australia, standing in support of people living with dementia and those who care for them.
Dementia impacts individuals, families, and communities across Australia, and this event is an opportunity for us to show solidarity, raise awareness, and come together around a cause that matters deeply to our sector.
We’re proud to share that our team has been thoughtfully organised to take part, with the support of the Emmy Monash Foundation. Our participation reflects a collective commitment to compassion, community connection, and advocacy for people living with dementia.
We look forward to taking these steps together and acknowledging the important work being done across the community.

Make a donation to support Emmy Monash in the Memory Walk & Jog to help Australians living with dementia.
