The other day, the Chairman of MUMS and club members attended the Remembrance Day service at the Shrine of Remembrance, Melbourne.

114,000 Victorians, 2,135 of whom were Melbourne University staff and students, served in WW1 as nurses, soldiers, airmen and sailors. On the 11th, we remembered their unmatched service and ultimate sacrifices.

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."

VYM & MUMS JOINT TRIBUTE NIGHT

As we leave the mourning period and enter the new, third Carolean era, the Victorian Young Monarchists and the Melbourne University Monarchist Society invite members and supporters to join with us to remember and pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth II and Her late Majesty’s extraordinary 71 years of service as Queen of Australia, and to toast His Majesty King Charles III with many long and happy years to reign.

Yesterday, the Chairman of MUMS attended St Paul’s Cathedral and Government House to offer a floral tribute and sign the condolence books on behalf of the Society.

The Chairman also had the chance to discuss the exemplary leader that was Her Majesty, with Her Excellency the Honourable Linda Dessau AC, Governor of Victoria, and her husband Mr Anthony Howard AM KC.

Her Majesty, Elizabeth II was a remarkable Queen whose loyal service, modesty and exemplary commitment spanned 7 decades and her dedication as our Monarch was incomparable.

With Her Majesty’s passing, the sky becomes less brilliant, having lost a shining star. The Commonwealth, as well as millions across the world, will sorely miss her.

May she eternally Rest In Peace.

The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.

The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.
