Last week marked Cathy’s final day as manager

She has done so much for Farnham Street and leaves behind a legacy that won’t be forgotten. Cathy wasn’t just an incredible manager — she was a true friend to so many of us.

Her support, leadership, and kindness made a lasting impact, and things won’t be the same without her.

Wishing you all the very best in your next chapter, Cathy — you’ll be deeply missed

On Wednesday, our Manager Cathy Connop proudly stood alongside Neighbourhood Houses from across Victoria at the rally calling for fair and sustainable funding to KEEP OUR DOORS OPEN.
We were inspired by the incredible turnout of staff, volunteers and community supporters who came together to stand up for the vital role Neighbourhood Houses play in every community.
Neighbourhood Houses create connection, belonging and opportunity. We provide safe, welcoming spaces where people can learn, access support, build friendships and feel part of something bigger.
The message is clear: without sustainable funding, doors will close. With fair funding, we can continue to be the heart of our community.
We are proud to stand with our sector colleagues and call on the Victorian Government to ensure Neighbourhood Houses can continue the essential work our communities rely on.

🏡 Keep Our Neighbourhood House Doors Open! 💛

Our local neighbourhood houses are welcoming spaces where people connect, learn, and find support. From classes and community meals to friendly faces and helpful services — these places truly make a difference.

Let’s work together to keep the Neighbourhood Houses doors open for everyone who needs them. Every visit, every program, and every bit of support helps keep our community strong 🤝

Drop in, get involved, or spread the word — your neighbourhood house is here for you!

Will you be joining us?

On Wednesday 18 February 2026, neighbourhood houses from across Victoria will join us at the steps of Victorian Parliament for a day of action.

The more people we bring together, the stronger our collective voice will be.
