COMMUNITY ALERT: POLICE VIOLENCE AT PALESTINE RALLY 🚨
On Friday night, our volunteer and comrade .zaza from FightBack Against Racism was violently attacked by Victoria Police. Our comrade was doing what the state refuses to do: defending two Muslim women from a zionist agitator at the Rally in Solidarity with Palestine and Flotilla activists.
We condemn all police violence. We are completely disgusted by this brutal state-sanctioned assault, which sent our comrade to the hospital with a suspected head injury and extensive physical trauma across his body.
This is not an isolated incident. This attack highlights a deeply entrenched pattern of systemic bias and state repression against marginalized communities:

* Asymmetrical Policing: While pro-Palestine and anti-racist demonstrators face aggressive crowd control and immediate physical escalation, police consistently protect zionist agitators, allowing them to harass and film vulnerable community members with impunity.
* Criminalising Self-Defence: When the state fails to protect visibly Muslim women from targeted harassment, community members are forced to step in. Instead of stopping the agitator, Victoria Police chose to criminalise and brutally assault the person defending them.
* Global Systems of Repression: From Victoria Police to the Israeli Occupation Forces, the tactics of intimidation, hyper-surveillance and physical brutality remain the exact same. Local police forces act as the domestic arm of global state violence.

True solidarity is not passive; it means taking direct action to protect our communities when the state actively works against them.
While other political parties content themselves with cowardly neutrality, empty press releases, and passive hand-wringing, our party remains fully committed to the struggle. We do not compromise. We fight back on every single front—uncompromisingly on the streets and unapologetically in parliament.
In the words of our comrade before the incident:
"People think im joking when i say police hate me just watch and see what they do to me while im literally using self defense."
We have an absolute right to defend ourselves against Zionist agitators and police violence. Keep each other safe. Stand ground together. ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽

The problem of housing affordability is not too many migrants, but too many tax breaks for investors.

🧡 JUSTICE FOR ISLA BELL: ENOUGH IS ENOUGH 🧡

On Saturday, we stood with hundreds of people gathered with open hearts outside the State Library of Victoria to stand in solidarity with the family of 19-year-old Isla Bell.

The atmosphere was deeply heartbreaking but incredibly powerful. Dressed in orange—the global symbol for the elimination of violence against women—friends, family and everyday community members came together to honour Isla’s beautiful, creative soul and fiercely demand answers.

This vigil wasn’t just about collective mourning; it was a wave of pure outrage. Just days ago, the Office of Public Prosecutions dropped all manslaughter and homicide charges against the man accused of taking her life. To know that her body was discarded at a tip, yet the legal system has allowed those primary charges to be abandoned, is an absolute betrayal of victim-survivors and their families.

As Isla’s mother, Justine, powerfully shared: underneath the anger that drives us to demand change is an ocean of profound sadness and grief.

Our legal system shouldn't just be a bystander while women are stolen from us. We stand with Isla’s family in calling on the Victorian Attorney-General to intervene. We do not need minor, incremental adjustments—we need a complete transformation of a system that fails to protect women and children.

We will keep speaking her name. We will keep fighting for the justice she was denied.

Rest in Power, Isla Bell. 🕊️✨

🚨 VICTORIA: WE NEED YOUR HELP TO FIGHT BACK AGAINST RACISM! 🚨

The Victorian government recently brought forward the political party registration deadline by 60 days. This leaves us with just 14 days to get the Fightback Against Racism party on the ballot for the November state election.

We need to submit 500 official members to the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) by Monday 1 June. If we don't hit this number, voters won't see our name on the ballot paper.

Who we are:
Fightback Against Racism is a grassroots movement dedicated to challenging systemic discrimination, protecting migrant communities, and ensuring everyone in Victoria feels safe, valued and respected.

While this is a great move, we cannot become complacent, or believe the fight is won.
Before they were the NSN, the N***s were "The Lads Society" and "The Antipodean Resistance".
The truth is, as long as we continue to allow men like Thomas Sewell to keep getting bail, to not be imprisoned, they will just keep changing the logo on their cosplay uniform. They already have, and we saw it in Melbourne at the rally supposedly supporting alleged war criminal Ben Roberts Smith.

FairWork legislation has changed for the positive for our community that drives or in 2025.

A lot of drivers are unaware of how this impacts them. Drivers are now considered 'employee like' and should get all the benefits of a direct employee.

Rod Barton nails it here.
FightBack will absolutely take up the fight for these workers.
Rod was a tireless voice against the international giant that is Uber, and he had some tremendous victories, but it's not over.
FBAR would be proud to carry on his legislative legacy, and we'd love to hear from members of the industry and their communities to stand as candidates.
No voice is louder than that of the person who is experiencing oppression.

“You get the government you deserve.”

I’ve always thought there’s some truth in that, but only if people are prepared to stand up, speak up and get involved when they see something is wrong.

Over recent months, a new minor party called FIGHTBACK Against Racism has reached out to me, knowing my long public stance against racism and the work I’ve been involved in over many years around social justice and the taxi and rideshare industries.

I was asked whether I would consider running for Parliament again. The answer is no. I genuinely enjoy what I’m doing these days and I’ve got my hands full across a range of projects and industries.

However, I was also asked whether I would assist in helping develop policy around the commercial passenger vehicle industry, including taxis and rideshare, and I’ve agreed to do that.

Why?

Because what happened to many people in the taxi industry after the 2018 deregulation should never simply be forgotten.

Thousands of hardworking migrant families and long term industry participants saw their livelihoods destroyed almost overnight. Many people who once owned small businesses now work extraordinarily long hours for incomes that in some cases fall below a living wage.

Many workers in the broader gig economy now operate without the protections most Australians take for granted:
• Sick pay
• Holiday pay
• Superannuation
• Workplace security

And yes, racism remains an ugly and very real part of daily life for many people working in the industry. Too many drivers continue to cop abuse, disrespect and discrimination simply because of their background, accent or culture while working long hours trying to support their families and their communities.

As I understand it, FIGHTBACK will be one of the very few political parties prepared to openly revisit these issues and make addressing the injustice faced by taxi and rideshare workers a genuine policy position going into the upcoming Victorian State Election.

They are currently seeking members as part of the process of becoming officially registered. Membership is free.

You do not have to agree with every single position of a political party to recognise that some issues deserve to be heard and debated.

Importantly, they also intend to stand candidates across every Upper House region at the next Victorian election.

For many working people, especially across industries like taxis and rideshare, the major parties have lost their confidence. Too many people feel ignored, left behind or simply treated as collateral damage in the pursuit of political and corporate agendas.

If that sounds familiar to you, maybe it’s time to send them a message.

Whether you support major parties, minor parties or independents, democracy works best when people stay engaged. If minor parties and independents disappear altogether, power simply becomes more concentrated in fewer hands.

Sometimes change starts simply by refusing to stay silent and choosing to FIGHTBACK!
