Augusta - Margaret River Meditation Flashmob Collective
What is a meditation flashmob? A meditation flashmob is a gathering of people that sit in quiet meditation usually in a public location for between 20 minutes to 1 hour; times, place and duration vary. Locations can include the use of local parks around town, local beaches; and suggestions are always welcomed. The meditation flashmob locatio
ns and times will be organise collectively and announced anywhere from 1 month to 1 day before the event via social media and email. Why have a meditation flashmob?
- To join in and add support to a Global movement that seeks to foster the continued development and cultivation of a peaceful, ecologically healthy, compassionate, spiritual and just world
- To unite and strengthen individuals and the community in peaceful action
- To raise awareness of meditation in public places
- To come together to celebrate our very real capacity to generate peace
*Peace is a universal human capacity with deep roots and arisings from many places, taking many forms. This meditation flashmob collective is open to everyone, to all members of the local, broader and global community who share the intention for peace. The group is not bound, openly embracing with mutual respect the participation of all people, of all ages, genders, sexuality, abilities, cultures, ethnicity, religion, faith, spiritual tradition or belief. There are a vast number of traditions and approaches to meditation, and so each person is openly invited to do their own silent meditation practice. This is not intended to be a teaching group, yet of course interest and discussion before and after is hugely welcomed and will be dynamic and exciting to share for those interested. We hope you can join in this fun and exciting action in the cultivation of a peaceful and healthy local and world community for all life now, and for the future.
