The volunteers of Lismore Base Hospital Auxiliary provide services for patients and raise money to purchase equipment for the Lismore Base Hospital. Everyone benefits from our efforts – you, your family, friends and other members of our community. Our volunteers are men and women from all walks of life contributing in all sorts of ways - eg sewing, baking, knitting, fundraising BBQs, selling raffl

e tickets and operating the auxiliary gift shop in the hospital foyer. If you would like to join our happy informal association, doing a little or a lot, attending meetings or not, or just to be there as a back-up, please contact our Secretary Rhonda (phone: 0427251600). Our meetings are held at 2pm on the second Thursday of the month at the Oaktree Community Centre, McKellar Place, Goonellabah. If you want to make a difference in our community, make friends and have fun – join us!

The monthly meeting of the Lismore Base Hospital Auxiliary is held on the 2nd Thursday of each month in the Community Rooms at Oak Tree Retirement Village, Mackellar Place Goonellabah. We begin at 2pm and finish around 3ish with coffee or tea a cake.
New members are welcomed with open arms so please, if you are interested, come along this Thursday (9th April) and see what we are all about.

The members of the Lismore Base Hospital mourn the loss of Jenny Dowell OAM, our much loved Patron for many years.
Jenny’s warmth and approachability touched everyone she met. She led by example, inspiring countless others to become involved in community life.
Our thoughts are with her husband Ron, daughter Georgie, son Tim, her friends and her colleagues during this difficult time. May her memory continue to inspire and her contributions never be forgotten.

What a lovely way to begin our 2026 Auxiliary year!

Today we held a Thankyou Morning Tea for the wonderful people who help us stock our Hospital Shop and our Christmas Market. Without these amazing people carrying out tasks ranging from crocheting the 1000+ hand towels we sold this year, collecting donations of yarn, sewing children’s clothes, knitting beanies,toys, tea cosies and blankets, through to supplying the chokos, passion fruit and lemons that we turn into delicious lemon butter, passion fruit butter and pickles.

We are eternally grateful for your efforts. Without you we simply could not keep up with demand.

If you would like to become an Auxillary member, or feel that you have a skill that could be used to help us with stock, please get in contact.

We are always looking for volunteers to manage the Hospital Shop. Our goal for 2026 is to be able to open every weekday and hopefully Saturdays as well.

The members of the Lismore Base Hospital wish you a wonderful Christmas and a happy & healthy 2026.
We plan to reopen the shop in the foyer on Tuesday January 27th. See you then.

A big shout out and a huge thank you to everyone involved in making our Christmas Craft Market such a fantastic success.
Our members and friends work hard over many months to create amazing items for our market and their time and effort is very much appreciated, but, without the support of the multitude of amazingly creative stall holders, fabulously generous customers, helpful Lismore Showground staff and our volunteers on the day, it would not be possible to hold a market of such quality.
If you missed out on attending, remember our stall at the hospital will be open most days for the rest of November and some of December.
Consider following our page as our upcoming events are always posted on there.
