K is for Killara Acute and Killara Rehabilitation

Our Killara Acute team is made up of dedicated aged care professionals who bring compassion, expertise, and a strong commitment to supporting older adults during periods of acute illness. We provide safe, respectful, person‑centred care, working together to manage complex health needs while promoting dignity, comfort, and quality of life for our patients and their families.

The Killara Rehabilitation Ward offers multidisciplinary inpatient rehabilitation to help patients regain function, independence, and confidence. Through coordinated, goal‑directed care, our team supports improvements in physical, cognitive, and functional abilities to optimise recovery and achieve the best possible outcomes.

Our teams work collaboratively to manage complex health needs while promoting dignity, comfort, and the highest possible quality of life for our patients and their families. It’s a privilege to care for those who have given so much to our community, and we strive to ensure every person feels valued, supported, and understood.

🧦💛 Recognising our doctors on Crazy Socks for Docs Day

Our Sutherland Hospital doctors are joining colleagues across Australia in wearing colourful socks to raise awareness for mental health in the medical community.

This simple gesture carries a powerful message: it’s okay to talk, it’s okay to seek support, and it’s essential to look after the wellbeing of those who look after us.

Today our team took part in a walk on Country for Reconciliation Week, spending time to listen, learn and reflect together. We paused at several of the beautiful Aboriginal artworks across Sutherland Hospital, each one a reminder of the deep cultural stories and connections held on this land. Guided by indigenous artist Wayne from Red Dust Originals, we are grateful for the opportunity to honour First Nations voices and continue our journey toward understanding and reconciliation🖤❤️💛

J is for Jara Ward

Jara is a specialty area caring for both Orthopaedic and Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) patients. Our dedicated multidisciplinary team of nurses, doctors and surgeons, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and social workers work collaboratively to provide consistent, patient-centred care for our vulnerable community experiencing musculoskeletal conditions and ENT-related needs. From admission through to recovery and transition back into the community, we support our patients every step of the way with compassion, teamwork, and the care they need to heal and thrive.
