In case people were thinking that Caz Heise in Cowper was one of only a tiny handful of community-selected independent candidates, here is a list of the 30-odd candidates (so far nominated) and the margins of the votes in their electorates.
Cowper is the tightest Nationals seat, but not the tightest LNP seat.
It makes for interesting reading...

If it looks TL;DR, then the precis is that voting for 'community independents' is presenting as a 'third wave' of political actors, not aligned to or beholden to the existing two-party system that, arguably, is the cause of many of our 'political issues'.
