Nuytsia floribunda 'moojarr' is popping up all along the track - this beautiful plant is very spiritually significant to the Nyoongar People - it's known as the tree of souls. 💛
‘No living Bibbulmun ever sheltered or rested beneath the shade of the tree of souls; no flower or bud or leaf of the tree was ever touched by child or adult; no game that took shelter beneath it was ever disturbed.’ (Bates 1938 in Bridge 1992: 153)

Nuytsia floribunda is known locally as moojar or the kaanya tree, and has traditional and spiritual significance to the Nyoongar people. This beautiful tree is recognisable by its intense display of brilliant yellow flowers that bloom during our holiday season 💛🧡

It was a very successful day at the Zig Zag Festival, a lot of interested people looking at the stall promoting the Railway Heritage Trail and some of the beautiful wildflowers to be seen along it. Well done Lynda!
