Well said Shane Warnes Division 3 Councillor, such an important message. The Federal Government are busy shifting the cost of Disaster Recovery onto Local Government Association of Queensland (LGAQ). Cruise night in Gympie this Saturday (23rd)!

Come down to Mary Street to watch the 5pm Parade Lap or head to the skate park at Nelson Reserve at 4pm to view the parked cars.

It’s free and family friendly.

Stockyard Valley was an absolutely stunning Sconeversations venue for this morning’s GourMay Mary Valley 2026 event.

A delicious morning tea of local produce, interesting people from our region and meaningful conversations.

As always our host the king of scone making, Martin Duncan (Sunshine Coast Foodie) outdid himself!

Well done to all the volunteers, local producers, the hosts and attendees for a lovely morning.

Our month-long celebration of all things food, festivals and farm visits begins tomorrow with the launch of GourMay.

From the Big Rosella Field Day, to long lunches, degustation dinners, farm visits, flower workshops, the Mary Valley food festival, cooking classes, Mother’s Day high teas, picnics, the Pumpkin Festival and so much more, there’s something for everyone.

The annual GourMay event is right in our backyard, giving us an opportunity to get involved, hear from some our local farmers, taste their produce and gather with family and friends.

A huge thank you to all the volunteers, committee members and those who are running an event, it wouldn’t be possible without you!

Two lovely mornings; Talitha and I helped celebrate 55 years of Meals on Wheels in Gympie and Talitha attended Gympie’s Older Women’s Network 30th birthday celebrations. Two groups who strive to make a positive difference in our community. Congratulations to both! 🥳🥳

With the massive weekend we’ve had in the Gympie region, I wanted to give a special shout out to Booth & Bar Co.

They transformed the old Don Cameron Centre which was a pretty ordinary looking area into a beautiful space to host the sponsors, dignitaries and guests that attended Rally Queensland.

Congratulations to the team, you did an amazing job and brought a touch of class to the event.
