Last Wednesday, nearly 50 students journeyed to Wollongong, located on Dharawal Country, to visit Killalea National Park and deepen their understanding of Dharawal culture. The day was perfect for learning by the beach, combining natural beauty with rich cultural experiences.

Our visit began with a heartfelt Welcome to Country led by our knowledgeable guides from Gumaraa Aboriginal Experiences. We participated in meaningful smoking and ochre ceremonies, setting the tone for the day. Throughout the visit, students discovered the significance of local native plants and their traditional uses, heard captivating dreaming stories, and enjoyed traditional dances along with the stories behind them. We even tried our hand at throwing a spear and explored local artefacts.

It was an incredible day spent on country, and our students proudly represented Goulburn High School with enthusiasm and respect🌿🌊🔅

Year 6 students flooded through our gates this morning for another Year 7 2027 Focus Day, focusing on HSIE and English/Drama. As always, our prospective students had a blast experiencing a high school day in the life, meeting new teachers and making new friends. TERM 2 RECOGNITION ASSEMBLY🏆

Please be advised that our Term 2 Recognition Assembly will be held in our school hall on Thursday 25 June. All students will have a notification on their Compass of this event as the whole school attends the assembly, however only the students who are receiving awards will have letters sent home this week. Last night our SRC Disco went off with a bang with our students sporting their glamorous thrift shop finds. Students danced the night away in their vintage threads

Last Wednesday, senior students Joseph, Zac, Sam, Zahra and Hannah attended Bowral High School to compete in the prestigious Evatt Competition. The Evatt Competition is Australia’s premier Model United Nations competition for students in Years 9–12, run by UN Youth Australia. Participants worked in teams to represent countries on the United Nations Security Council, debating global issues, negotiating resolutions, and developing skills in diplomacy, public speaking, critical thinking, and teamwork. Through fast-paced debate and collaboration, the competition empowers young people to engage with international affairs and become informed global citizens. Well done to these students!👏

On June 2nd 1926, Goulburn High School reopened on the grounds that we walk upon today. Today, we celebrate 100 years of our school standing proudly on Goldsmith Street as the spectacular organisation that it is. As a school, we came together today to celebrate this extraordinary milestone, and to honour the generations of people who stood on these grounds before us and made this school what it is today.
As we celebrate with a special assembly, cake and a barbecue, we'd like to thank the principals, teachers, support staff, students and families whose hard work and vision helped to build the foundations upon we stand.
Thank you to everyone who helped pull off our celebrations today for 100 years of Goulburn High School changing lives through education at our current site!👏🏻🎉 NSW Department of Education
