We are a Coastal community. The images coming out of Nepal are horrifying and heart breaking. Greens policies make sense, and are urgent. We are thinking of all those in Nepal and elsewhere who are affected by the climate disaster as its magnitude unfolds 😔

This is one of the worst crises hitting every suburb in Australia. Qld only has 3 politicians in Federal Parliament. We need more who care about people, not their political donors corporate profits. Everyone should get to enjoy this stunning long weekend we are having, including those who care for the elderly and the young - your mum or daughter.

A heads up to communities particularly south of Gold Coast Airport.
We encourage you to have your say to Airservices Australia until 18 September 2026 on a proposal that would see a change to southern arrivals, reducing exposure for some communities while increasing aircraft over others.
The proposal would remove a current restriction on the existing Runway 32 allowing a broader range of international arrivals from New Zealand, Asia and the Pacific region to use the offset approach which crosses the coastline near Wommin Bay, north of Chinderah, over the Tweed River and turns over Barneys Point. This may result in fewer aircraft using the straight-in approach crossing the coastline near South Kingscliff Beach before travelling over the Kingscliff and Cudgen areas.

Dolly Parton filled a feminine need in suburban Australian girlhoods of the 1980’s. In an era when girls were valued according to their magazine looks and s*x appeal she attracted confusion and often condemnation as she owned her s*xuality, but more than that, her big hearted and giant golden haired, blue eyed and dimpled humanity. She was the best of us and showcased courage and brilliance wrapped in humility and an effervescent love for us all. May we step up and fill the void she leaves behind. Vale Dolly and sympathies to your nearest and dearest who must be heartbroken. Thank you for the love and memories, and the music. You are missed 😔
