❤️ SOLD OUT. QUEENSLAND DAY. Q-CLASH. ❤️🏉
Today, Queensland celebrates Queensland Day, and what a way to celebrate it.
A sold-out Q-Clash between the Gold Coast Suns and Brisbane Lions, while celebrating eight incredible volunteers from two fantastic junior AFL clubs — Pacific Pines Australian Football Club and Palm Beach Currumbin Australian Football Club.
As part of today’s celebrations, four volunteers from each club were recognised for their outstanding contribution to community football and presented with tickets to experience one of Queensland’s biggest sporting events.
As we look around a packed stadium, it’s incredible to think how far AFL has come in Queensland. What was once considered an emerging game has grown into one of the biggest sporting events on the Queensland calendar, bringing communities together from right across our great state.
Today also provided an opportunity to acknowledge some wonderful people who continue to make community football such a special part of Queensland life.
A special thank you to Robby Comfort, President of PAC Power AFL Club, and Stephen Phelan, Junior President of Palm Beach Currumbin Junior AFL Club, for the leadership, passion, and commitment you bring to your clubs and communities.
The sold-out Q-Clash is a celebration of how far AFL has come in Queensland.
Today’s volunteer recognition is a reminder of who helped get us here.
Because behind every packed stadium is a local club.
And behind every local club is a volunteer.
On Queensland Day, that’s something worth celebrating.
Happy Queensland Day.
