Our next "Introduction to worm farming" workshop with environmental educator Tim Mitchell is coming up on Saturday 13 June between 2 - 3.30pm.

A worm farm is an excellent way to dispose of food scraps and produce vermi-juice (worm tea) and vermicast (worm castings) to use on your garden (particularly if you only have small outdoor spaces).

Learn how to set up your worm farm and the easiest methods to manage and care for these hard-working creatures. The workshop covers both the theory and practice of worm farming in a household setting.

To book in for this free workshop, go to events.humanitix.com/introduction-to-worm-farming

In July, we are running our always-popular Winter Fruit Tree Pruning workshops with horticulturalist Justin Calverley.

There are two dates - Saturday 18 and Saturday 25 July between 9am - 1pm (cost is $70).

Winter pruning of fruit trees is vital for setting structure in young trees and promoting fruiting wood in mature trees.

This workshop will give you the skills to prune with the confidence to achieve the tree you wished for. The workshop will combine both the theory of why and what we prune in winter with demonstrations in the orchard.

For further information, and to book in for this workshop, please go to www.edendale.vic.gov.au/Whats-on/Events-calendar and scroll down until you find the date of your choice.

"Is an EV right for me?"

If this question is of interest to you, come along to this free session at Edendale on Saturday 20 June between 1.30 - 3.pm. It's an information session plus Q&A, presented by Bryce Gaton, one of Australia's foremost experts in electric vehicles.

It will cover what to look for when choosing an EV, how range and charging infrastructure work in practice, and address the most common myths that tend to muddy the conversation. You'll leave with a clear understanding of the real benefits and limitations of electric vehicles as they stand today.

At the end, you'll be able to ask Bryce your questions and get factual, trustworthy answers from an expert in the field. Bryce regularly presents on EV topics to the public, as well as being the writer behind the EV car model Fact Sheets and webpage found on the AEVA (Australian Electric Vehicle Association) national website.
